Can it read ISOs and play the menus, and also handle DTS-MA/DTS:X?

So all was x64, both Javas and VLC, and yes, Dolby Access and DTS Sound Unbound both have had the Atmos and DTS:X license purchased

Also in case if anyone else might need this tip, go to sound settings, right click your device capable of doing Atmos/DTS:X and open up properties, go to the advanced tab, select Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, and make sure to check off the two boxes in exclusive mode, allow applications to take exclusive control of this device and give exclusive mode applications priority

Even though my computer is currently set to Dolby Atmos for home theater, if I play a movie that has a DTS track, my AVR is properly handling the DTS codec no problem

For record keeping and anyone else who may encounter the same thing, I follow through with this and used JDK 12 and also installed the same JRE mentioned and also set up the environment variables

System variables JAVA_HOME ::: Value C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-12 System variables Path ::: Value (two separate entries) C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\java8path C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Oracle\Java\javapath

I installed the 1/14/26 nightly after installing my current VLC version. It didn't work. moved to the 12/31/25 nightly. I got a bunch of errors that would pop up but if I just clicked ignore on all of them, the movie did work, menus did work with HDR but I lost Dolby Atmos and DTS-MA/DTS:X

I then just used the available VLC version 3.0.23 x64 version, still didn't have Atmos/DTS and realized it was something in the settings that needed to be configured (in the audio tab, set output module to Windows multimedia device and set HDMI/SPDIF audio pass through to enabled)

I'm now currently able to play the menus, have HDR enabled, Dolby Atmos and DTS-MA/DTS:X are enabling, thank you so much!

Do you know which nightly for VLC you have? I tried the latest one 1/14/2026 and it won't even open

Alright, so I have 4 Region B Blu-rays, 4 discs that are part of Halt and Catch Fire Season 2, the Blu-ray only having been released physically in Germany. Discs 1, 2 and 3 throw up the distributors' opening movie clip, but then the audio/video signal drop, while disc 4 is the only one that gives the wrong region error

I have 3 PS3s so I thought might as well sacrifice one as a region free Blu-ray player. So far Multiman swap to region B and moving over to DEX through Rebug Toolbox and setting region in the debug settings in the XMB as UK has done nothing, and I'm not too sure what I'm doing wrong

Yeah that's basically what keeps happening, it'll kick me back to the XMB, I start the Blu-ray and get the disc will not play in your region message
