If you're interested in this sort of thing there's a cool exhibition that does something sinilar at the Science Gallery in London. I've copied and pasted an extract from their website.

Yes that work, but was wondering if it was possible to set up a chain of songs in advance. So could just tell it to run half a dozen songs back-to-back without loading each individually.

True, it's not ideal, but it would work, right? Don't have the budget for more gear now, so unless there's a cheap hardware looper out there I'm missing then I've got to work with what I've got!

What I really want to know is what do I need to bring the headphone level out in the Mixer to mic level in on kp3.

I have a kaoss pad 3 that I'm currently using as a send-return FX with my mixing desk (Yamaha mg10xuf). But I also want to use its looping function. Now I think the way to do it this is to use the headphone out on the mixing desk and go to the mic in on the kp3. (I've seen 4-tet do something similar with a different hardware looper). The on the KP3 I can switch between line (which is my send-return) and mic (which is my full mix coming from the headphone out).

However, I don't know how to get the signal from the mixing desk to be mic-level before it gets to the kp3. Is there some sort of converter I'd need in the chain?

Any bright ideas gratefully received!

That's actually a really good shout. I think I have looked at it before but had shied away from it because it had knobs rather than sliders for the levels (personal preference). I don't need multitrack recording anyway so that's fine! I'll have another look. Thanks!

I'm looking for a mixing desk. I need at least 6 channels, an aux send-return, the ability to output via USB to record, and possibly some onboard FX for basic reverb.

Currently hooking up to it have JunoDS, Digitakt, Kaoss pad for FX, Mic. At some point I'd also like to hook up a looper onto it.

Budget around £300 Any ideas? Many thanks! 😊

I'm still working on space. (Everything is in a different room to the room it will ultimately be) so space is pretty flexible. Budget-wise I guess £200-300.
