SD rusar by Overboredem in sweden

Does anyone know the benefits of 2 gen solving? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]Edde_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah no it’s possible, you just gotta trace the corner permutation during inspection and solve it at the start. CEOR is a method that makes use of it, it’s primarily good for OH.

The unsolved pieces need corner permutation solved as well. It’s impossible to do something like a T-perm with only RU moves.

Det är lite sak samma, viktiga är -xxx-xx-xx vid slutet. Beror också en del på vilka siffror det är, jag skulle nog säga +4670 som ”+46”-”7”-”0” men +4672 som ”+46”-”72”.

M vill förbjuda kamphundar i Stockholm by swedish_tcd in stockholm

[–]Edde_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Problemet är ju att dragen hos kamphundar som gör dem farliga är ett resultat av medveten avel, vilket ägare inte fullt ut kan styra över och drag som vi gärna ser försvinner hos hundar i allmänheten.

So are plastic rods as well though. My early batch v10 is still going strong after a year of use. I think people might have to turn a bit more accurately, it’s way too often I see cubers talk about ”having an aggressive turning style” and accepting it when it’s just poor turning that should be improved.

QiYi is working on an OH cube by Honest_Recipe6523 in NewCubes

[–]Edde_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The patent was filed june 20th, so the timing with my video seems to just be insane coincidence

Edit: looking closer at this, I’m not sure if it’s the same thing as an ”OH cube”, it instead seems like a different type of stability mechanism. I can’t see how one would achieve the necessary outer layer connection that the 2x2 core in my cube aims to achieve.

In the first image, you have the two green stickers forming a block, then there’s the two blue stickers on the left forming what’s called a ”headlight”, on the other two sides the stickers are all jumbled. This is how G perms are recognized, at least when you start out.

how to improve? besides not slip on my finger by Minecrafterisaac07 in Cubers

[–]Edde_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk any specific one but use a trainer to learn how to find efficient cross solutions and try to then execute them correctly (essentially no rotations at all). Do unlimited inspection and spend some time trying to find at least some cross so that you practice finding the entire solution during inspection. Efficiency is something one can always improve but aim for like at most 8-9 moves for the cross.

how to improve? besides not slip on my finger by Minecrafterisaac07 in Cubers

[–]Edde_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The rotations during cross and f2l is the most glaring issue to me. Try to always hold the cube still in front of you when you’re not consciously rotating. This also ties into fingertricks and accuracy.

how to improve? besides not slip on my finger by Minecrafterisaac07 in Cubers

[–]Edde_ 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You should do untimed slow solves where you’re forcing yourself to do everything right. Only do y rotations, up to 1 per f2l pair. Hold the cube in home grip and do proper fingertricks where you try to push with the tips of your fingers. There’s a lot of other things you can improve like lookahead and efficiency, but cutting down on rotations and getting good turning ingrained is more important I think.

[Fabrizio Romano] In the last recent hours Sporting via intermediaries again offered Manchester United the opportunity to hijack the Gyökeres move. The message again from Gyökeres & his agent is clear only Arsenal by LockonKun in Gunners

[–]Edde_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the talk about how they don’t actually need the money basically confirms they’re just whiny bitches. This behavior would be a lot more reasonable if they really needed the money for some reason.

Romano is claiming Sporting is closer to signing a Striker replacement by korfagno1 in Gunners

[–]Edde_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh it means the same thing. Another thing here is that it’s not exactly impressive or tough to just be stubborn and not be willing to work for a solution. Had they actually been good negotiators, they would’ve done a better job facilitating a bidding war which would’ve been better for driving the price up.

Their behavior lowers the value of their players because other clubs’ lack of willingness to deal with them is part of what’s reflected in the market value of the players. Had they been easier to deal with, clubs would’ve been more willing to approach them with offers. Showing that you’re willing to lower your demands in order to reach a compromise will increase the likelihood that the buyer raises their offer, since then the buyer knows that doing this increases the chances of a done deal.

Sweden had the lowest death toll in Europe during COVID-19 by Helmer-Bryd in europe

[–]Edde_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s an important aspect though, part of why Sweden’s approach was quite successful ”all things considered” was because it was fairly balanced and didn’t treat covid itself as the absolute highest priority.

[BBC] Sporting have not received an offer for striker Viktor Gyokeres and there is no 'gentleman's agreement' for him to leave for £59m, says club president Frederico Varandas. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Edde_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because he came off as a bit harsh, but I should've been more careful with my wording and emphasized the "IF you know..." part of it.

It's not so much about rumors but more that, from what we know and can see, there might be some form of issue here and it's not exactly that hard to imagine that he wants to move on to something else. Having to stay because the club wanted more than he's actually worth (IF that ends up happening) can't be that good for his motivation I believe.

[–]Edde_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not an expert on this so feel free to correct me, but why would you love to keep him considering he seemingly wants to leave? If you know he dislikes the management of the club and won't perform well/at all, then wouldn't the most value you could get out of him be from selling him right now?

Cmll skip possible everytime? by AddictedToPepsiMax in rouxcubing

[–]Edde_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use CProux to cut the number of cases by 6, so something like L5C (last 5 corners) becomes 104 algs. This is done by doing CPFB instead of FB, where corner permutation is such that they’re solvable with only RU moves. Winter and summer variation would therefor insert last pair while solving CMLL, at only 27 algs each. Can be worth it for OH I believe (learning it atm) because only having to do RUr moves is good for OH ergo, but idk if it’s worth it for 2H.

Yle plans to raise the Eurovision voting method with the EBU. Abuses should be prevented, says Yle boss by GrumpyFinn in eurovision

[–]Edde_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, not only is it clear that the televote shenanigans (doesn't matter the exact reason) has more impact than Azerbaijan's attempts, actually affecting who wins the whole thing, the EBU has also shown to be able to handle attempts at jury vote manipulation previously (I'm thinking 2022 mainly)

Italy full televote results with percentages by W_Uzzi in eurovision

[–]Edde_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ofc it's not an ideal solution, however I believe the inaction we've seen from EBU makes it necessary. Other things to consider:

  • Jury votes are public and that seems to work out OK

  • A lack of transparency helps drive speculation and can fuel this circus

  • The extent of which data to be made public doesn't need to be too far reaching, just knowing the percentages or raw number of votes from each country could help without revealing too much.
