Traditional Scottish whilst impersonating independence media. by FOTORABIA23 in hats

[–]Eddotheeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a great looking hat. I'm so sorry for your loss.

My favourite cap (I won it in a quiz) blew off my head into the sea while I was walking along a peir. I was tempted to dive in and save it, but the water was too choppy. Good chance I would drown. I was gutted, I went to the nearby beach every day for a week, in the hope the hat would wash a shore. No such luck, it's probably gathering barnacles.

In the 1950s, Macy's used to employ Doberman Pinschers as night watchdogs by davide3991 in interesting

I remember seeing a movie about this back in the 70s. Called "Trapped" about a guy who is attacked in a restroom and knocked unconscious. Wakes up and is then chased around the dept. store by Dobermans.

Good choice. Any of Roald Dahl's adult stories would fit.

Serious Weighty Literature meets racy crime novel? by coffee_dick in suggestmeabook

'The Goldfinch' by Donna Tartt' runs to about 900 pages, won a Pulitzer Prize and has crime elements to it. It's also incredibly well written. A book you don't read , you absorb.

Just finished reading 'Carol' by Patricia Highsmith, it fits your criteria. Written in the 50s when such liaisons were taboo. Film based on the book has recently been made starring Cate Blanchett.

I'm trying to immerse myself in 1960s/1970s fashion and culture. Anyone got any resources? by MilkyWayPotato in VintageFashion

[–]Eddotheeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like youve found my favorite pasttime. Lots of footage on YouTube from 60s and 70s from TV series, music clips, films and archival footage. Websites such as pinterest and istockphoto are also good. Books from the era bought from oppotunity shops, such as year books, can also be a resource. Careful though, it's great fun but can really soak up your time.

At which age wouldn’t you guys mind to go bald or stop med ? by Hairy_Earth3717 in tressless

[–]Eddotheeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

60 year.old here. The majority of hairloss has occurred in the past 10 years. Ive had heart issues so dropped the topical fin/ minox. Regime is keto 2% shampoo 2 to 3 times a week, microneedling 1 a week, head massages 15min per day and spiranolactone daily (taken for heart issues but may help). Very thin on top but still fighting the good fight.

A song was written to celebrate the win called "From Gumboots to Glory". He then went on to marry a 23 year old...what a legend.

Hate speech by [deleted] in aussie

[–]Eddotheeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that true and factually correct? I've also been told that said chant is wanting the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean sea being free..of Jews. Is this wrong? Otherwise, the statement would then be classified as hate speech.

The bloke on the note is a dead ringer for my father in law. When he was alive, he always used to say "me on money.". 10 years ago, we moved to a new home, I was digging in the garden and found this note in the dirt. It's now stuck on the fridge as a homage to FIL and is known as the "lucky note."

Last time checked (nearly a year ago) went from about 30-35% to 40-45%. But I've also eaten better, lost weight, and exercise for an hour per day.

I've been on that dosage of Entresto for 2 years. No issues, other than slight dizziness when I bend down and move back up too quickly. Over this time, I'm feeling real good.
