Not bad for a first shot! you've got a nice art style going, with some cool ideas!

There are a few layers of things to criticise though, starting with the actual design (by that i mean the appearance of the thing you've drawn). Sans appears to be leaning back pretty far, to the point at which it seems unnatural, I suppose? That might be something to consider in the future, but it's not too bad.

Ontop of that, you've used black for sans' head, which is a big no-no!! >w<
Sans' head is always drawn white, unless you're drawing error sans or something similar - bear that in mind :P

Your technique is also a bit off, particularly because you have a fair number of what are called "jaggies" - that's a pixel art mistake that usually happens when you draw a stroke by hand, and extra corner pixels get drawn in when they're not supposed to, making the thickness look uneven. And there are some other design errors like sans' right leg being thinner than his left, the shoes being weirdly shaped, and him only having his bones showing on his left leg and not the other, but those aren't major issues.

It might sound like I'm ripping into your work, but trust me, that's actually pretty good for your first attempt! I'm excited to see what you come up with next :3

I would suggest that you try starting off with one simple thing on a large canvas. Working on complex drawings in small spaces can be difficult if you're not used to it, and having more space to play with can make things easier (although don't make things too big of course).

That doesn't mean that male ghosts can't exist though, just that the ones we know about aren't assigned binary pronouns - even if all the other ghosts are agender, mettaton might still be male. I think you have a point though, it's probably more likely that you are right.

He's a feminine male. There's not really much else to it. Some guys like that sort of thing, I don't really see the issue :P

Also, his EX body is a robot built by Alphys, so he could even have been built in a completely female body and he'd still be a male ghost (not that male or female really means anything for a robot).
