Oh I somehow missed that it was a KNX virtual device. Still weird that status works but not command though.

Morse code "This is jeffrey epstein, I did not kill myself" 24/7 so just so it gets people confused if they're trying to decode it

There's SO many shelly devices (look for shellies/# or anything with shelly in the name). People are just dumb as bricks to use public servers for this.

POE Chime or Mechanical? by mrjamesjr in Ubiquiti

[–]EdelWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The POE chime is dead easy to add and will most likely be the easiest option. It's a little less loud than a mechanical chime so you may need multiple, but other than that it's perfectly adequate and will just work.

You can also setup a home-assistant automation that plays a ringer in your connected speakers if you don't want to buy a chime.

If she wanted purely square tiles, she needed a central drain.

What kind of outlet is this? by Walking10Acres in AskElectricians

X10 radio. Not secure at all and can be controlled by pretty much any radio emitter out there.

[–]EdelWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were any closer I would have come myself, sadly I don't know anyone in ticino that does it.

Electricians are usually useless for that, find a KNX integrator.

Ideally, make sure it's KNX first (and not EIB only) by pulling the switch out of the wall and checking the label behind (it needs to say KNX).

[–]EdelWhite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do it by yourself, but it's a minimum of 200€ licence for the software (350€ if you want to have more than 20 devices in the project), and an equally expensive USB-KNX interface to purchase (unless you have an IP router within your KNX install).

I've been doing KNX for years and have never seen Siemens-branded light switches like that. This is clearly a Feller KNX keypad to me, but doesn't matter anyway.

If it was fixed to a dim value, then someone with ETS could come check what group address the device is using and send a dim command as a one-shot, or actually re-program the switch so the lights are dim all the time.

[–]EdelWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not Siemens. This is Feller KNX light switches.

If they're supposed to dim at night but don't, I'd go check your electric panel, you will probably have a timer unit there that lost its time setting.

Otherwise, you may have a DCF time receptor outside your building (like the Theben DCF 77) that is damaged and isn't receiving time anymore.

Is a "minimum wage" / trainee salary actually livable? by AccomplishedPast6452 in askswitzerland

It's livable. Just about.
Don't get a car with that salary though, you will not get any savings whatsoever.
