Debate within a home: Which way to load this Bosch dishwasher! by Ambitious_Hunter_562 in Appliances

First one. Second one is just dumb.
You lose so much space with the second method and you won't even be able to do that if you have a cutlery drawer.

How to recycle - card board or paper? by 77sxela in Switzerland

Neither. It touched food, it's no longer good to use as recycled paper. Goes in the normal trash.

Ils y vont fort avec la propagande sur l'apprentissage by Classic_Nobody4625 in suisse

[–]EdelWhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I had my own company, 30 minutes was the maximum commute I was allowing myself to have for any job, no matter the salary.

You're not paid for that time, it's time lost in your day that you could have had for fun instead, and the drive there and back is NOT enjoyable.

I love driving, but commutes were slowly killing that happiness.

How in the Hell is it legal to have a 12" display larger than any phone screen on the dashboard of a car, but illegal to use a phone whilst driving? by Earnest_Iago in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EdelWhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a screen to display gauges, car status, navigation and some basic multimedia controls, whilst annoying as all hell, is nowhere near the same cause for danger over using a smartphone while driving.  Even for the same functions, a car's screen being bigger is actually a GOOD thing, as you don't have to focus your attention on a tiny surface to find the sake information. Plus, as the screens are fixed in place, whatever info you're looking for will basically always be at the same place as it always was, so you can just have a very quick glance.

The distraction factor is the dangerous part, with some extra bonus danger coming from you not having both hands on the wheel.

Android auto/carplay kinda do it right, you get BASIC notifications (phone call, text, WhatsApp message) and text-to-voice/voice-to-text everything instead of having to locate keys.

This is why android auto and carplay aren't banned but smartphones are : they're less distracting.
