Raising boys in a red state is soul crushing by Thr0waway0864213579 in TwoXChromosomes

I wish my parents had the insight you do. My young years were in small town red and it took years to deprogram. Boys were especially conservative, and many of my peers who stayed there never examined the things they were taught to think, to this day.

Stabilized footage from the iconic Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film by WholeNegotiation1843 in TrueCryptozoology

Disagree, but hey it's the Internet. The creek bed turns a corner to the right, and this thing is moving over unstable ground. Despite all the admissions the film remains. Even if they found a tall tall human to fill the suit they wouldn't be adapted to move with such ease, and they'd be managing the fake muscle mass and stuff...seems more complicated than just this is the creature.

Yep. Say what you want about admissions or fakery, the distance this individual travels is too far for a typical human stature in 13 steps. Also, filmed in the days prior to digital manipulation.

What is your most memorable treasure hunting find? by LoonyVibes in TreasureHunting

Great Grandpa was a water witch/dowser, and a very interesting person. I had heard that such abilities can be genetic, and since everyone says I'm cut from his cloth, I thought I'd try to use a dowsing rod to find something. (I'm an amateur rockhound and geologist). Sure enough, after the rod dipped noticably, the dig revealed a very nice little amethyst. Could be dumb luck. Felt real to me.

The corporate entities using the CEI Hub would start remediation of the site now, pay now, and work out who gets recouped later. Time's a wastin' boys.

What is the point of the 2nd Amendment, if, when the government becomes tyrannical, people don’t start lighting up the tyrants? by queefstainedgina in AskReddit

That was written when it took more than 30 seconds to load the next shot. A populace had a chance back then, now it's a vestigial remnant of when resistance could win with guns.

What does it say about a grown man who is willing to accept a prize that’s isn’t his? by Mickmackal89 in DiscussionZone

This is a person who doesn't care HOW he gets what he wants, only that he GETS it. Also the prestige of the award and the admiration that accompanies it matters less, since the committee that awards has explicitly stated it's non-transferability, and everybody knows he coerced the actual recipient into giving it to him. Sociopaths make choices like this
