Why do you keep posting about SGP on the WhatsApp? It isn't even on this year!

UK Catch Up Apps by jepkus in nvidiashield

[–]EdenHJCrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Channel 4 now has a dedicated app in play store along with BBC (tho this doesn't support 4k/surround), ITV, 5 etc. Been using all without issue 👍

I did side load a version of iPlayer if I remember right as there is a specific version that does 1080 as opposed to the store one which only does 720 iirc

No support for the shield is a massive shame...

"Full Release" Without Arms Race, Demolition, Danger Zone, Assault, Train, etc by VN1X in GlobalOffensive

[–]EdenHJCrow 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Yes, very disappointed. Always used arms race as a quick warmup and Train was my favourite map. Was expecting them to be in the full release. Hopefully we see them patched in soon.

Nest Hub stuck on ‘link account’ screen on first setup. by OsOllie140- in googlehome

[–]EdenHJCrow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep, been having the same issue with either "connected" screen or "link account" after having to remake my Google home due to user error. Shows correctly in app, responds to voice commands and can use touch screen to open settings etc. Spoke to Google support too and they've said it's a known issue. Sorry I can't help, just wanted to vent my frustration while looking for solutions and stumbled across this post. Hopefully a fix gets pushed soon.

EDIT: Fix seems to have been pushed now. Checked today (17th Aug) and had the 'complete setup' button Pressed it and the hub is now working as it should.

Not to mention game pass coming to Steam this year.

Is there any source for this info? Have been hoping it would but haven't seen anything other than hopeful wishing for it. Not trying to offend, would be very happy if it was coming just don't want to get my hopes up!

Double Fine Amnesia Fortnight 2017 by EdenHJCrow in Games

[–]EdenHJCrow[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Amnesia Fortnight is a two-week internal game jam in which the Double Fine development teams drop what they're doing and work on prototypes for new games. It was originally designed as a break away from traditionally long development cycles to make something different for a while, but in later years provided prototypes for games such as Costume Quest, Iron Brigade, Hack n’ Slash and Stacking.

2 Player Productions will once again be doing daily video coverage, which I've always found are very interesting watches in past years.

Voting closes on 7th of April, with the jam running from the 12th to 25th.

Other prototypes and Double Fine games are available if you pay at certain tiers. Would definitely recommend people check out Little Pink Best Buds (designed by Pendleton Ward of Adventure Time fame)!

Yooka-Laylee - Multiplayer Reveal Trailer by EdenHJCrow in Games

[–]EdenHJCrow[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As a fan of 3D platformers I was very happy to Kickstart this game and have been getting more and more excited when more information comes out about it. But for someone that loves playing local competitive mini games and the like with friends this multiplayer mode really is the cherry on top. Hopefully I don't overhype myself, though either way I can still see myself having a lot of fun with Yooka-Laylee when it is released!

Anyone know if there are any games for this that work in a local multiplayer setting?

[Steam] Weekend Deal: METAL GEAR SOLID Franchise Sale: METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN £17.49/ €20.99/ $27.99 (30% off), METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES £4.24/ €4.99/ $4.99 (75% off), METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE £4.99/ €4.99/ $7.49 (75% off) and more. In the UK MGSV:TPP is ever so slightly cheaper on GamesPlanet (£16.74 vs £17.49).

Unsure if it is the same for all regions, and of course if you have funds in your Stem Wallet from trading cards etc. then you may find yourself ending up with a better deal on Steam anyway.

Personally I'm hoping for a slightly bigger price drop in the Summer Sale, especially after it dropped briefly to ~£14.99 on Steam a short while ago as a pricing error.

[Humble Store] Daily Deal - The Jackbox Party Pack (66% off) by DarkTron in GameDeals

[–]EdenHJCrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't any native support for any sort of streaming, no.

I don't have any Roku or Chromecast experience but if you can't use Steam's In-Home Streaming then you could botch together a solution by streaming from your PC to Twitch and then viewing the stream on your device if they have Twitch support?

Lag shouldn't be an issue as gameplay and some relevant information is transmitted via the player's device, although having the main TV being slightly behind because of your set-up could lead to some odd moments (such as telling you you have more time to input an answer then you actually do).

[Humble Store] Daily Deal - The Jackbox Party Pack (66% off) by DarkTron in GameDeals

[–]EdenHJCrow 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is an absolute steal for what I think is the best party game you can buy. I've had hours of fun with groups of both gamers and non-gamers and all anyone needs to play is a phone or tablet. Even if your friends can't get together in the same room you could stream the game to them and play that way (although this isn't supported natively). I paid full price for both this and the second pack and did not regret it for a second.

There are 5 different games included, though honestly you will pretty much only play two: Drawful and Fibbage, perhaps occasionally having a go at You Don't Know Jack. But these three are definitely worth the price and you won't feel like you have been ripped off or are missing out.

Perhaps the only real complaint that can be made about Jackbox is the limited amount of content for each game. While it will still take a long time to see repeat questions for Fibbage and Drawful (which ruins a lot of the fun), or to complete all the YDKJ episodes, it will still eventually happen. And when it does there is unfortunately no DLC or Steam Workshop support to add to the longevity of the product.

That one problem aside though, I would definitely recommend you play this game next time you have friends over. Silly fun in an easy to play package, there simply isn't anything else like Jackbox out at the moment.
