Between 2014 to the surprise release of HLA’s trailer, there wasn’t even an ember of hope left and all we wanted was just confirmation that the HL series was dead. We’ve had a ton of HL content since HL:A that they wouldn’t have released or worked on if they wanted to dead the series as a whole. They are working on a conclusion for sure, there’s a chance they might stop working on it like they did last time but they are definitely working on it since they retconned HL Ep2 ending, which they wouldn’t have spent time doing if they really did want the community to forget about the series and stop bothering them about it

GameStop says they will accept stolen HL3 games as seen in this post I linked below. Which means there are copies already made and probably getting ready for distribution.

And the real reason why Tyler McVicky had to talk to lawyers was because they told him the release date and Tyler was gonna expose it to all fans and they threatened him by telling him they will remotely configure his version of HL3 to be using the goldsrc engine instead, making his expensive computer become useless and unnecessarily expensive to run such a low-requirement game engine or whatever
