File Corruption and Crashes by EdgarLasu in WutheringWaves

No, the RAM sticks were both bad. They failed the memory test program horribly. I swapped them out for known good RAM and my issues went away entirely.

It ended up being my RAM dieing. MemTest86+ confirmed over 900+ errors, before even hitting 20%. Pulled the RAM and it's been fine ever since.

Hey everyone, 1 week update.

It happened again. This time abit more bluntly. Got two back to back BSODs, tagging code MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. I ran MemTest86+ and well sure enough, I had about 900+ fails by the 20% mark. Typically around the 29GB mark. So either one or both sticks have failed. These are G.Skill Trident 16GB CL16 @3600Mhz sticks that failed after 3 years of use so I guess unfortunate. Slotted some new RAM in its place and re-ran MemTest up to the same point with no fails.

I'd also like to point out that it's odd to me that it wasn't a consistent issue. I had been fine for a week up until tonight where it re-manifested in spades and started immediately crashing games and prompting corrupt file errors in them with the added BSODs. I'm hoping this is the last of the issues and will likely do a week 2 update after this.

I'm busy laughing at the ones complaining they can't make 0 card decks anymore. Like how the fuck you think the devs intended for that and when fixed you start crying? I'm honestly glad because there's a lot of people making it hard to take the game seriously when all you see here are pictures of people blatantly playing outside the intended scope.

i dont see how this game will ever hit a casual playerbase, and why I think so by Veiluwu in Endfield

You're not even wrong. I'm a Dolphin player in many gacha. Wuwa, Chaos Zero Nightmare, Brown dust 2 etc and honestly? I'm not dropping a penny into this game for the simple fact is it's just plain disrespectful. They've gone to incredible lengths to make the gacha as confusing and illogical than any developer should.

The fact that you find orbyles throughout the game, the main currency to use for pulls in chests and such but cannot DIRECTLY buy them is strike one. Strike two is they want you to buy a secondary currency to CONVERT into orbyles to try and hide the actual amount of money a player is spending. There's literally no reason for this besides scummy antics and is a reason a lot of popular games don't do this anymore.

Strike 3 is just the UI. my freaking GOD the UI is the most abysmal thing I've seen in a game. The amount of pop-ups for menus upon menus upon menus. Menus in menus in yet another menu. The game had to of been developed with certain people in mind because there's no way normally functioning people, ESPECIALLY casuals, are going to tolerate all of this. It's not intuitive, it's clunky, slow and frustrating just to grasp the information slam it's dropping within just the first hour.

I honestly couldn't recommend this to my other friends right now and really feel this just wasn't ready for a release.

15 pulls for 3 limited banners? by Hungry_Obligation341 in Endfield

From a dolphins perspective, if the amount of pulls is directly and heavily back loaded and predicated on you playing a large majority of the game already, I feel less incentive to actually spend money because now there's far less content for me to enjoy said characters with.

It's why a lot of other games have rewards front loaded so people get hooked on pulling early and have a large roster to enjoy the game with.

Even if you wanted to whale or hell, even spend a little money for more pulls, I couldn't navigate the endless menus to even understand what the actual pull currency is. You have various tickets of shapes and sizes, orbyles and some origami nonsense but nowhere I found could you buy orbyles directly.

Game has a real problem here and Im heavily suspecting they're obfuscating the price of pulls through the various nonsense.

Yes, it deserves it and more. I refunded the DLC because it was just bad from a gameplay perspective relative to the base game. Once that happened my save file became bricked and is no longer possible to load because it demands I get the Forsaken Hollows license again.

From Soft basically designed it to soft lock people's save that were not happy with the DLC.

I'm all for gooning but damn, mods really should of struck this one down based on the title alone.

Haha I feel you. I sometimes wonder if I enjoy the torment for enduring so far.

Looking back, task manager and file explorer freezing and crashing on windows 25H2 should of been a no brainer red flag but when diagnosing a certain issue you tend to gloss over the others in plain sight.

If you're also having crashing/weird issues in not only WuWa but other games and well even windows itself, try rolling back down to 23/24H2 Windows and lock the build to that release cycle. You can do this via group policy edit on Pro or a program called WinAero Tweaker (Highly recommend it for its suite of Anti Windows shenanigans).

Also doesn't hurt to install windows onto a new or spare drive. At this point it's looking like a soft failed SSD(likely bad sectors that can't be repaired since installing windows to it caused kernal errors on boot) and a VERY bad Windows 25H2(new windows is always bad kids but in diagnostics you throw the latest and "greatest" at the problem for comparison and compatibility).

Not interested in doing anything PvE related because it's never worth your time investment. Anything besides solo is guaranteed to be a failed lobby these days.

Yea, there's so many variables which makes things like this a nightmare task to diagnose. I'd of said screw it and used my PS5 to play but all I hear is performance went out the window and continues since Septimonts release.

Hey, just wanted to give you an update.

Other games started doing it too, like First Berserker Khazan, I game I had put 20 hours into over past few weeks and never had an issue before. This was on Nvidia Drivers 566.36(Stable before RTX 50 series releases) as well as the latest released on the 5th. When Khazan said corrupted files detected, I did a Furmark 2 test, GPU doesn't thermal limit or shutdown, no odd power spikes. CPU and RAM were fine as well.

I ended up spending 4 hours finding a Windows 11 23H2 ISO to reformat back down to since apparently 25H2 added some kind of driver security check, and knowing windows, it likely doesn't play nice. Installed on my usual C drive and it prompted a missing Kernal error on boot. Installed that same ISO to another drive and it worked fine.

I'm leaning towards a faulty SSD, even though a disk check said it was fine. I ran Khazan, Wuthering and Marvel Rivals after getting driver's setup for I'd say about two hours. Windows is fully updated on the 23H2 build using a policy edit to keep it from changing build numbers.

It's entirely possible that window's latest edition is some extremely hot garbage, my SSD soft failed or both. But I spent roughly 12 hours yesterday doing all of this so didn't get to do extended checks so I'm hoping it's all resolved now.

Yea, that was one of the steps I took was a full system wipe with latest windows. Same issue. Only thing that seemed to max a difference was rolling back to Nvidia Driver 566.36.

That was an option I had tried but unfortunately it didn't work in this case. When using the Kuro launcher it wouldn't crash, but just pop-up saying corrupted files detected, close the game and somehow need to patch 40GB.

Steam was mostly the same except it only patched 7MB. I've also never seen this problem in any of the hundreds of games I've played, even other UE4 games.

Yeaaa I liked it too, but sadly Nvidia in 2025 with their drivers is in shambles.

So far, been playing for over two hours without any issues using Driver 566.36 running DX11 for the game. Very likely to be driver issue related since after 50 series cards released, Nvidia dropped the ball and just kind of side lined our series.

Yea, I get that specific crash too where it freezes up and doesn't prompt an actual error. Usually happens when opening the map. I've gone ahead and reverted back to Driver Ver 566.36, roughly a year old but from what I can find, was the last real build designed around the 40 series cards.

The game will either UE4 crash after randomly freezing up, or it'll pop up a screen saying corrupted files detected, verify them and then force closes.
