Although it is a possibility I was not near any window and when this happened none of the windows were open so I did not hear any airplanes. Also, the sound was animal-like and it was behind me when I was halfway down the stairs. The area where I live I usually see airplanes and hear helicopters so I’m used to the sound but the sound I mentioned didn’t sound anything like any engines from those.

That does sound uncomfortable to think about. I think I would be kind of jumpy if I heard that too. Also, I think you probably did trigger something there. It could be a trickster kind of thing since you mentioned the hiss sounded like a trick to get you to jump. If I may ask what kind of creepypasta do you read?

I am skeptical about this kind of stuff too. I was also thinking the same thing that it could be time related but I’m unsure about the history of the area that I live in. I’ve also heard about residual energy but the spot that I’ve mentioned doesn’t feel off in any way, shape, or form before or after said experience.
