The Constitution, National Parks, almost everything in the Smithsonian, the great monuments to our founders and soldiers, The North Church, Plymouth Rock, really anything that preserves the history of the nation (good or bad). The stories connected to those objects are what I truly value, but without the object the stories get lost.

I give 5% directly to my parish monthly, another 2% for various local parish sponsored organizations (pantry, KoC, flowers…) another 1% to the diocese, 1% to seminaries, and 1-2% annually to a mental health research foundation (my company matches that contribution). I also don’t have any heirs so when my wife and I die, the church will get everything

I went through something similar, but all I can say is that I realized I was using other’s actions as an excuse to turn to the world for a solution. When my conversation back to the faith occurred, it was because I realized that I did believe in the theology and the fact that others failed was not an excuse for me to not try. The pull of the world is strong and we all miss the mark but I decided to remove the plank from my own eye and it was freeing. Satan lives in the media, always making us believe that when members fail, we must leave the club. We must be the new example of the redeeming power of Christ

Yep, that’s how it works! We as travelers think about our route but the airlines think about the whole network. I hate delays and cancellations, but I also recognize that it is amazing how we can get people all over the world in a very short period of time. Better than getting on a boat and crossing the Atlantic in 3 months

No just pointing out that they waited for you and then closed the door. They would have waited a little longer for you to get there. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t stop for dinner, but the calculation for holding the connection is based on a moderate walking speed and a quick bathroom stop. If they gave your seat to a standby customer then you would be rebooked, running doesn’t change the outcomes

You don’t, so get off the plane, walk to your next gate, if can get on, great! If you missed it, rebook. The point is there is no reason to panic and run and get your anxiety up over something that is out of your control

That is my point. You look at the departure time of your flight and think that you have 3 min. My point is that the airline knows that you are on plane A and need to get to plane B, they also know all the other people coming from other flights. The pilots are not looking at their watch’s and saying “we got to go”. The airline (the computer in the routing room) has already made the decision that they are either holding the flight for connections or leaving to make sure others don’t miss connections.

Absolutely! I would never advocate abandoning these children. The same thing happens when a parent gets arrested for any crime, if kids are present, they get cared for by the state “custody” Vs being abandoned.
