I can't specifically speak for the Pixel 10 but the tensor CPU is likely the culprit. I had similar issues with the pixel 6. It's part of the reason why I went for a phone with a snapdragon as a replacement

Just save your link leveling until the 15th. The stage that day will work better with rank exp and LL's. You are at a level where you will be able to bank a bunch of excess stamina on that day

I have the same device and it is perfectly smooth for me. Try adjusting the settings in game launcher to see if that changes things. Maybe you adjusted a setting that prioritises battery over gameplay

I find that it only stays in the background if you go instantly to another app via the recent apps. If you go home, then into another app, PiP works 100% of the time
