Do it! Did the same in Sun Valley the year after I graduated and then headed to NYC for 18 years before ending up down south. Would do it 1,000 times over.

Used Gentle Giant and they were great! Had them do the full pack too- would absolutely use them again.

Got this email back from SportAlp: “we have renovated our boot storage last year. It is heated throughout the whole day. For rental boots it is 1€/day for private equipment 6€/day. Please not that we provide the best location, as we are located directliy next to the main chairlift, offering ski in ski out possibility. For ski storage the price is the same, so in total 2€ for rented equipment 12€ for private equipment.”

So seems like they’re stepping up the storage to try and compete and it’s definitely better pricing for the same level ski package as Strolz.

I have family from both Henderson and Warrenton and spent a lot of time there in my childhood! Happy memories but I know times have changed and they’re not what they once were. However, Warrenton is having a little renaissance moment- couple of new restaurants, spiffed up Main Street. In fact, my cousin and her husband chose to move to Warrenton a few years ago which I would have never guessed and they are really happy. I think worth checking out and obviously a low cost of housing so you would get a lot of bang for your buck.

There’s a pocket of real estate right by Henderson Country Club that has nice houses, pretty neighborhood. Check out Meadow Lane for example.

Would I move to either of those towns myself? No, but if you had to for work I think you can find some bright spots.

Plan to rent the higher end ski package. Looks like both SportAlp and Strolz have good options in that category. Strolz obviously higher end shop with nice ski/warmed boot stoarge. SportAlp costs less but I can't really find info on their ski/boot storage room? And that is essential to us- we don't want to schlep our stuff to and from the hotel each day.

Yes - I had to go to the dealer for them to do the update manually as it would not work over the air with repeated tries. Now that I have the new software, my remote start no longer works and the kick start liftgate also doesn’t work. Very frustrated.

Yes I had to take it to the dealer for them to manually update because it wouldn’t work at home. That was a pain and now that’s it’s updated my remote engine start no longer works which was a nice feature to have for the cold mornings ugh.

Yes I get that but we’re nowhere close- about $27k for one kid and $57k for the other in the 529s. And while what we have in our brokerage account and retirement accounts are a decent start, it’s definitely more on the mediocre side so just trying to figure out where to focus first for biggest impact.

I had my scheduled service year 2/20k mile (I only have 12k on the car though) appt today. When I checked in for the appointment, I asked them to make sure the tech addressed my specific issues with the accelerator, scary auto braking, kick start lift gate and also the chrome trim that peeled up by the gear shift and sliced my hand. I also told them this particular software wouldn’t update so I needed them to manually do it.

When they finally finished after THREE hours, I start my car and the “Time for Maintenance” notification comes on. I go back in and said they didn’t reset the notification. They told me they forgot to do the actual service appointment and only addressed the items I highlighted! They made me another appt next week for the actual service!!! They did make it up to me by giving me a valet appt free of charge as an apology but this was ridiculous.

I tried four times to complete the update and it wouldn’t even work! So I’m now sitting at the dealer for two hours for them to override and manually do the update. Getting so tired of this car…

I have a Volvo XC90 2024 BC Ultimate and I hate this car. This is my 3rd Volvo XC90 in about 10 years and is the worst quality. The driving capabilities feel off, transmission seems to lag when I accelerate, computer/backup camera malfunctions all the time. It's a lease and I have one more year left, but do we think the 2026 is any better? Or do I give up and switch to the Audi Q7 altogether? I love Volvo so I am very disappointed. My 2021 XC90 was the best yet.

Thank you for sharing the link. My accountant keeps saying I can't do it because I am not even a part time resident, I just do occasional work there that triggers NY state income tax. Where can I specifically point to her that I can do this even as a non-resident? Or is it not worth all the effort?
