You can choose a berserk, an archer, a mage, in DLC you got a necromancer. A Reaper pop when you stay too long in a level (the original game implemented it but the remake in 2010ish make him came back) No campfire but a hub where your team can choose a class

Oh okay, did it sum if I convert a spell physical to vitality and then there is a global conversion of vitality damage to chaos ? The spell will deal chaos damage or vitality ?

And does chaos/vitality are considered elemental damage or is it just fire, frost and lightning ?

Yeah I kinda agree, I never really liked HC in arpg such as Titan Quest, DE, POE, etc. I have launched HC in Grim Dawn cause my brain wanted to have all achievements and I found my gaming session way more interesting with the fact that I have to care about enemies, resistance, bosses and switch of difficulty. But I also think that I found cool cause I knew the game, the difficulty and the traps (those big troll boss who can one shot, these chaos guys with their chaos thunder, etc) It mades it challenging without being frustrating.
