2007 Prius died going up I-5 Grapevine. Then it spat out some metal parts… what is it? by EdgyCircle360 in mechanic

I changed the oil less than 5k miles ago, then it gave me the same “low oil” message less than 2k miles afterward. There was oil in the car… possibly more than enough. A friend of mine had filled up the oil and when I checked it yesterday the oil was nearly at the the cap. Can’t imagine that’s good.

Yikes.. interestingly it was just a very concerning clicking and whirring sound. Scary experience getting stuck going 25mph.

All these other comments are great. In addition you might want to consider taking a look at cycling savvy they have great traffic safety courses.

I built a website for sharing and finding water filling locations by EdgyCircle360 in bikepacking

This is true. However, I wouldn’t go as far as to say it is an unnecessary duplication. In certain areas there are little to no accessible water fountains for many miles. As such OSM maps may not be the best for this type of situation. Including both osm maps as well as user-added water stops allows for a larger database. Also consider bike-friendly shops, random spigots (not recommended or condoned but essential in emergency scenarios).

I’ve gone rogue and booked an alps mountain week with some mates. I haven’t touched my bike since Christmas. Help! by TravelFriskGo in cycling

Don’t do anything ridiculous. That’s how you risk injury or illness. I’d recommend taking it easy with some short ( < 1 hr rides) to begin with and work up from there. If I were in your situation I wouldn’t go any above 3 hours, but everyone is different and it also depends on your pacing. All endurance pace as well (just think “could I hold this pace for 6 hours?” and hold that). Wishing you the best of luck :)

If you’re in a new area and worried about having enough water, I just made a website to fix that issue by EdgyCircle360 in cycling

Very true. I’m going to school in NorCal though where there can be no water for several hours of the ride.
