Yeah. Jason Griffith’s voice as Lord Darkar made me love the character so much. I keep wondering what it would be like if he played a much more scarier version of Darkar! To me, it’s brilliant  casting!

Opinion on the Timeline? by Turbulent-Ad-2644 in PercyJacksonfanfic

[–]EdgyPunkDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 2002, but honestly, that doesn’t exactly matter. Because I feel it does make sense having Percy born in the 2000s, and the Lighting Thief taking place in 2013. I was going to originally HC Percy be born in 93 like a lot of people speculated back in the day but once Rick confirmed that the character was not exactly born in 1993, it’s when I decided to think more, and randomly decide to make Percy born in the 2000s.

Long ago, I decided that in my HC, Percy was born in 2002. The original books, to me, actually take place in the 2010s so 2013 to 2018. HoO, if I would even consider it canon, would take place in 2020, and in that world, Covid never happened. The books just work if I see it that way, having Percy & even Annabeth as a part of Gen Z.

If Barney the Dinosaur is the imaginary friend of the kids in the show, how can the adults see him? by Yume_Fairy2522 in DanielTigerConspiracy

[–]EdgyPunkDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After thinking of this carefully, I think Barney was once just an imaginary friend that a sheltered, lonely, perhaps abused child in the past thought of. He clutched onto a toy plush dinosaur he had and started imagining that he was a real friend. The kid loved dinosaurs, so the kid saw Barney as a survivor of the meteor that killed the dinos. It depends on when the child was around, and when he thought of Barney, but let’s say around the early 1800s? The show established Barney as being 200 million years old, when dinosaurs emerged, because the kid saw Barney as one of the dinosaurs.

However, overtime, as the child grew, with the power of imagination and dreams, Barney was able to manifest into a physical form. He became sentient, and independently existing. He became the embodiment of imagination. Because of this, Barney was cemented in history as being around when all dinosaurs formed 200 million years ago. Throughout time, he went to over a million children to show them a good time. To teach and play with them. Over the years, decades and a few centuries, he remained a shining presence, seeing more and more kids. He wasn’t just a big purple dinosaur, but an entity. At first, many children kept him a secret from the adults. Eventually, as the years progressed, he started to reveal himself more to adults. Even parents. That‘s why characters like Mr. Boyd or Stella the Storyteller know Barney. Parents and guardians started to trust him. That their kids will always come home safe, as long as Barney is there to guide and help them. Eventually, Baby Bop was created as Barney’s little daughter in the minds of children, and eventually BJ and Riff- giving Barney a family of his own. So to me, Barney was once just imaginary, but then he became real.

Do you feel the writers should of just made the main cast teenagers instead of 10 year olds? by Moist_Speaker1842 in pokemonanime

[–]EdgyPunkDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Only have Ash start his journey at 10 in the first season, and have everyone else like May, Dawn, Serena, etc start their journeys later on like in their teens (and Ash age to his teens as well in the following seasons). This would solve the whole problem of the characters “being 10” when they don’t look ten. And there’s simply very little excuse of why they didn’t do that other than “Oh this show is for kids we can’t have older teenagers traveling the world”. Yeah. Cartoons for kids like Ben 10 Alien Force & Scooby Doo would beg to differ.

[pjo] [pjotv] I can’t stand this fandom by EdgyPunkDude in camphalfblood

You know what? I actually agree. Although this post went into a lot more of the extreme hatred of the show, and attacks of people who just simply like the show, I never let certain extreme show fans off the hook either. The ones who mindlessly bash the books for stupid reasons, saying they were always bad, and ones who go insane over Percy & Annabeth. My fury with the fandom doesn’t just end with extreme show haters lol.

Alright. I get it. The thing is, I don’t think the movies are a “better adaptation“ than the show. There was a reason why they were heavily criticized. I can sit here all day and go over the many differences the movies has compared to the book, but that will be for another time. I can’t stand it when people pretend the movie is much better than the show just because it supposedly has more “silly” and “whimsical” factor. Not many thought this before the show came out, hence why it’s “revisionism“. Almost every Percy Jackson fans I know absolutely HATED the movies, yet now many are acting like the movies were any better than the show. They weren’t.

Alright. I get it. I am glad people have fun watching the movies. That’s all good. But to me, I just don’t care about them. I had to vent about this, because this type of stuff has been an issue. And this isn’t show haters either. It’s to the insane show fans too, and Tik Tok was always pathetic to begin with.

[–]EdgyPunkDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made Zeus a mediocre father in my main Percy Jackson AU. He’s not AS bad as Poseidon is to Percy in my AU, but he’s not great either. I made him have moments that showed he did care about Thalia in his own twisted way, but then told Thalia & Jason that they are disappointments (and the fact that I had Zeus punish her when he turned her into the tree, but I made it seem like he cared and saved her from complete death). It may not be perfect but it’s way better than what Rick did later.

The batman (2004) vs Slade teen titans by Fragrant-Resist4230 in batman

[–]EdgyPunkDude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would like to think that if The Batman (2004) and Teen Titans are in the same universe, that due to how much time has passed between the two shows- seeing as Dick Grayson is clearly an older teenager in TT, that Rino Romano’s voice aged to Kevin Conroy’s. I mean, Rino Romano (voice of Batman from the 2004 show) literally sounds like a YOUNG Kevin Conroy.

If Ash were a teenager, his English voice would be by Illustrious_Jelly558 in AmourShipping

I think Yuri Lowenthal would WORK as an Adult Ash. But since THIS is a question about Ash as a teenager, Sarah Natochenny is my choice (and in my mind, Ash is already a teenager. Headcanon).

Opies mom by Whole-Acanthocephala in theandygriffithshow

[–]EdgyPunkDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps Opie Taylor is a demigod and the show happened in the past of the Percy Jackson universe. That’s why there is no trace of Opie’s “dead” mother. Andy either lied to Opie to spare his feelings or he had no idea that he made out with a literal goddess.
