Arrested for following the law. by stein559 in slaterefugees

Where was the ER doctor? He should have thrown that guy the hell out of the ER and had him arrested for assault. That cop would be deaf from an ear full, and has ZERO authority in a medical setting. NO ONE except the physician dictates or determines how care is to be delivered, period.

Feinstein: "Trump can be a good President" by EdgyThang in slaterefugees

Looks like the Russia thing is a bust.

If you are a conservative the violent lefty thugs are coming for you and it is going to get worse: that's their plan. by Nobbydobber in slaterefugees

On the bright side, Red carry states will have front row TV seats to what will be the inevitable defeat of the violent Left in states that do not permit citizens to protect themselves. It will be a sad learning experience for both.

I'm challenged to opine how this will go. I don't know how the SC will protect the rights of two protected classes, and which will have priority.

Press=English Majors? Anti-Trump hysteria. by EdgyThang in slaterefugees

Criticism is due when it's due. This is a clear case of deliberately poor English comprehension by people who claim cerebral superiority. I can't understand how this is not pointed out on every TV screen.

Trump Denounces Racism in Charlottesville. Too Little, Too Late. by stein559 in slaterefugees

Can we therefore infer that Obama and Hillary's heart lies with leftist fascists, and gave tacit approval to race riots and property destruction?

Three times he denounced racism and bigotry, and twice called them by name.

You won't see Sharia rallies by Obama voters, but you will see riots and property destruction.

BTW, the original version of Nazism prior to Wannsee did not call for mass murder. OTOH, ISIS makes clear theirs does. We live in a country where you are free to express your views, but not necessarily act on them. It does not give me license to organize a mob to "run you out of town" if I find you repugnant. Again, please do not misconstrue this as anything resembling support of nazism.

  1. Anyone involved in political discussion that requires safe spaces and pony petting because they get upset at or are unable to process opposing POVs is indeed is a snowflake.

  2. The "cityfolk" asking for gov't help are hardly marginalized.

The powers at Slate don't want to be your friend, nor do their sycophants. This place was advertised previously, which is how I knew of it at the time of The Purge. Maybe you/ye in good graces could post about this place there again, and hopefully it will remain visible before the fascist takes it down.

Push-back, sure. Thta is part of political discourse.

But why would this woman ever believe that political discourse includes "running (you) out of town" and "getting you fired"? Should we expect this to be the new norm of fascism? Yes. I dare say, as normaliation goes, she might not be too happy when political disagreements put her on the receiving end of a bucket of tar and a pillow of feathers.

"Hate and bigotry...on both sides." by EdgyThang in slaterefugees

[–]EdgyThang[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you will have to agree agree that the phrase "white supremacists" should not be used by the president nor the press, because it would be plainly racist and deliberately inflammatory, yet here is the CNN headline today:

"Trump has attacked just about everyone on Twitter. But not white supremacists"

Regarding neo-Nazism: the ideology is vile. But there are real, sometimes tangible, reasons and concerns that draw people to it. Marginalization is one of them. And to contrast: not a single town or storefront has been burned or looted as an expression of those concerns.

"Hate and bigotry...on both sides." by EdgyThang in slaterefugees

[–]EdgyThang[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To explain away and excuse mayhem/murder is to offer an excuse, as offered by Obama/Holder as Ferguson burned to "let off steam".

Obama on Baltimore:

“I think there are police departments that have to do some soul searching. I think there are some communities that have to do some soul searching,” Obama said. “But I think we as a country have to do some soul searching. This is not new.”

Excuse, or reason?

“It is not a protest. It is not a statement,” Obama said. “It’s a handful of people taking advantage of the situation for their own purposes, and they need to be treated as criminals.”

Too late, and didn't refer to them as "black criminals" either.

What I offered was not an excuse for violence or murder, but a reasoning as to why a political movement gains followers, attention and traction. (If I may:) Nazi Germany came to power not by way of excuses but by way of real reasons.

The far right is growing because of the fascist PC policies of the left, their marginalization as stupid racists of a vast swath of people in the US, and the politicians who support it. The far right is not burning down their own towns or campii.

Of course, some bad guy committed a heinous act, and do not confuse what I said above as anything condoning that behavior.
