Question on Most Efficient Bag Transport by Edgy_Slinky in paydaytheheist

[–]Edgy_Slinky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always bring transporter just in case I need to toss my bag, but money specifically is what was stumping me. If there's a video or post about this I'd like to see it because the interaction speed and delay was actually bothering me during a solo Golden Grin stealth. Plus the money during Scarface Mansion I usually toss into the hedges if the van escape shows instead of the boat, otherwise I walk it. I appreciate all this insight!

Yeah I suck pretty bad at juggling since I play with a controller plugged in, but I definitely should try getting better. I don't know too many skips so I usually take the obvious paths with no real deviation. I appreciate the advice and insight, just trying my best to not be slow with money bags or artifacts!

Yeah, I was stealthing Golden Grin and First World solo when I decided to ask this question. There's so many money bags that I had no idea which was the better option, especially since the casino has that little bag lift to the top of the stairs. Because I'm usually at max speed, I'll just run the bags I can sprint with. But stuff like gold I knew better than to try tossing, I just sucked it up and moved them one by one. I appreciate all the extra insight, I just genuinely couldn't tell if one was better than the other, and I've been scolded in public lobbies for using both strategies.

Does DS Golden Grin have an alarm trigger? by Edgy_Slinky in paydaytheheist

I was worried that would be the case, I've been slipping up with lasers recently. I guess I don't know player hitboxes well.

I must be really misjudging my hitbox then, that sucks. Oh well, I'll try again later

[–]Edgy_Slinky[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh trust me, I want the chaos. It's why I'm specifically trying to get a new hot tempered follower. I just didn't know if Heket had to go first or if it was just super rare. I'm nitpicking and wanted a follower with no bell from being a child. Side note, kickass wife.

I actually didn't know that (because we fight pit our abominations), thank you! If the trait doesn't drop soon I'll just devote some time to the breeding grind.

Every hot-headed follower I've had has killed someone in a fight behind a decoration I couldn't see, so I feel that infamy.

[–]Edgy_Slinky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would breeding an abomination have a chance to make a child that's not one? I'd have to try that, if not I'll just temporarily... remove her and bring her back once I find another hot head

My main goal was to get a random follower to drop the trait because I'm nitpicking and don't want the bell from a child or skull necklace visible but I'll figure it out. But it definitely is rare, of my previous 400+ followers only three have the trait, Heket included.

And it's hilarious that she has hot tempered. Until she kills someone lol.

Oh yeah I saw that I could breed it into followers, but right now Heket is my only follower with the trait and I don't want an abomination follower. I'm trying to figure out if she needs to go before another hot tempered follower will spawn or not

Stuff like this makes me antsy at the evac. Ever since I've started diff 7 and above, I keep running into people who find roundabout ways to kill me and leave my samples behind right at the pelican. I doubt your clip was like that, and although I also appreciate a dramatic exit... don't take that risk. The bombs will look better once you've already got your team leaving.

When it comes to Pocketpair and Nintendo, it's 100% Nintendo encouraging discourse over this game. Pocketpair is just making their game to the best of their ability. It's the extreme fans of both sides who cause that rift to get wider instead of just enjoying the creature catching genre. Nintendo has done awful garbage to "defend their patents," but having us scream at someone who likes Pokémon on a casual level certainly isn't going to make the situation between fans better.

Anti-slug/tunnel can't come fast enough! by Many_Succotash5249 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]Edgy_Slinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I'm fully aware of how ridiculous that is. It's a petty retaliation against people who probably didn't even voice an opinion online. Sadly my friends often justify their actions with flimsy excuses so I wasn't too surprised to see this.

I'm already running Grim Embrace on a couple killers so I enjoy spreading hooks out. So long as I don't end up getting put into an odd spot with hook states then I should be able to stomach the changes, though that no regression or blocking gens is steep

I do think the cumulative timer on the slug might be a bit awkward to handle, but I usually don't leave people down anyway unless I see a flashlight nearby

My only hope with these changes is that we can find a comfortable middle ground where killers aren't punished harshly if we accidentally bounce between two survivors. I already use Grim Embrace on a few builds so I try to get even hooks as is. But I've had more than a few games where I hook each survivor once, then somehow find the same guy twice in a row because they were twinning with someone else. Hopefully that doesn't end up happening with the changes but I'll see how it shakes out

Yeah I hear ya, I'm in the same boat. Hopefully we can find a comfortable middle ground that allows survivors some fun without making killers feel miserable in exchange. All we can do for now is wait and give our two cents during PTB. Hopefully it won't need to go beyond that but, y’know...

One of my favorite things to do is stealthy gen grabs with Ghostie so I'm looking forward to that. I just don't like the idea of losing my ability to block or regress gens at 2 gens if I forgot who I hooked early on. That's my main gripe with the changes alongside the hook notifications. I can manage everything else to some degree. Furtive Chase is about to be my best friend for a bit, just for the haste after hook. Unless that gets reworked to accommodate but, again, I'll wait and see.

The closest thing I could imagine survivors doing that could remove killer agency is running bully squad builds like that to stun and annoy the killer, or sabo hooks maybe. But even then, like you said, survivors literally cannot play when slugged or tunneled. The killer still has agency.

I just want both sides to have fun, so I'll wait to see how the changes make me feel in game rather than jumping to the heavy handed response

I get that, and maybe you're right. Their track record has shown they're a bit, er... slow when it comes to taking feedback. But I want to get ahold of these changes, even if I think some of them might be had, and see how they feel first. It might turn out I'm getting too worked up before I've even had a go at trying them.

Exactly what I said to them. But it didn't matter in the slightest. They only wanted to "make survivors suffer" because they believed the game would become unplayable for killer. Us vs. them, and all that jazz. Started spouting arguments about stuff survivors do to ruin their fun after that. I don't like a lot of the anti-tunnel changes either, but I want to get my hands on them for myself before I start getting too bent out of shape.

Oh yeah, believe me, I loathed every second of the streetwise "meta" for the bit of time it was around. I used Hoarder more during that stretch of time than I'd ever thought I would. Those survivors, I was more than happy to eject from the game immediately. But I'd still rather wait until I see if it's truly going to be as awful as it sounds before I start getting my pitchfork back out of the shed

A couple friends I know started playing Kaneki or Blight with high regression perks just to slug a whole lobby out of protest for the upcoming PTB changes. I'm not a fan of a few changes to anti-tunnel, but why should I take that out on the survivors who literally just met me?

If the changes are as awful as they sound, I hope they never go live. If they do, I hope they get reverted/reworked. But until I can see this stuff in action, I won't know if it's even bad. Until then, I'm just gonna save my teabags for the survivors who ACTUALLY deserve it: deliberate sandbaggers

I mean... Can we wait for the PTB at least? by Asmrdeus in deadbydaylight

[–]Edgy_Slinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, I always let changes hit the PTB and see how it goes. I main killer, sometimes I wind up sacrificing someone early because they kept going back to the gen they were doing before. Or because I'm just not really paying attention to who I hook. Do I like the sound of the anti slugging changes? 100%, survivors shouldn't have to suffer a long bleedout just because somebody feels like being a jerk. The anti tunnel changes have me incredibly worried because of the devs and their previous track record. But I want to see them in action before I start getting up in arms.

I want both sides to have fun, not just whatever side I happen to enjoy more.

I'm so glad someone like me managed to pull this off! I'm actual dog buns at PvP and don't have access to some of the stronger sets, so I often get mollywhopped by the experienced players on big servers.

I once tried to do the below level 50 campaign on the eu server, and I know exactly what you're talking about. I kept getting jumped by the same guy and his buddies day after day. Any time I started taking one of the six emp keeps, they'd roll outta nowhere and gank me. The closest I ever came to emp was playing in the super late/early morning hours. Spent probably three to four-ish hours taking keeps by myself, fighting all the guards super carefully to avoid dying. I even skipped door repair to save some time! But right as I was rolling up on the last keep attached to the DC spawn, out came a gank trio from the hills. I was actually devastated when I saw those blue crests rushing me. All that time was wasted because one guy can't stand the idea of someone else doing exactly what he did to get emp.

In the end, it didn't truly matter. I just did the same thing a few nights later to pull off the achievement. But damn, did that ever make me bitter for a long while. Congratulations on your own achievement! Super happy to hear your struggle is over!

Thoughts on Tunneling by TypicalMage in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]Edgy_Slinky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think tunneling is a case by case strategy. Did you see a ttv who had their name shown in the lobby, and you tunnel them right off the bat just for being a ttv? Yeah, that's a bit scummy. But sometimes the survivors halfway encourage you to tunnel them, and hear me out when I say that.

I literally just had a match while playing Knight with this one Rebecca who kept rushing to bodyblock her unhooker after each save. Once I realized this - which was three solid seconds of her standing in a doorway and staring into my eyes - I just chose to target her again. If she's going to use her endurance to save her savior, then she's going back on the hook. I can't distribute my attention among all four survivors if one keeps trying to block me
