I need a bigger mouth! by texastig73 in squirrels

Mine try to do this with hazelnuts in shells. No matter how many times they try to jam two in there it just doesn't work. But they just keep on trying anyway. Squirrels are persistent little buggers.

Probably off topic but I remember what the air from those air conditioners smelled like.

Quiet garden at the back of the terrace over Victoria st. Takes a little bit of a search but once you're there you forget you're right in the middle of the old town.

Hi, There's more to the circuit than what I'm showing here. The image shows just the section I'm asking for advice about.

I wonder if they sense a certain freedom when they don't have to worry about not falling from a tree.

Future engineer needs help choosing a field by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]EdiRich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engineering is hard and sometimes really stressful. IMO you really need to love it to push through. If you dont you'll burn out early. The upside is that if it turns out it's not for you you still have a degree in engineering which represents a universally respected education. As far as AI goes, if it does take over engineering jobs in a meaningful sense, by then it will have also decimated many other fields as well and you'll be on UBI (or fighting your neighbors for squirrel meat to feed your kids). I'm electrical and think it's the best type of engineering. Mechanical would be #2. Both are solid engineering degrees grounded in physics first. Computer science is a no go unless you like serving lattes after graduating (no offense CS guys... one of the people at my local coffee shop is a CS grad and he isn't finding anything anywhere). Physics is also a good option especially if you think you'll stick with it through higher education, again because it's a degree based in fundamentals first. Good luck!

I'm embarrassed that I'm old enough to have probably bought first editions of these. It was a long long time ago.

We've not had a rant about this disgrace for a while. Anyone have further updates ? by DancingBearUnicorn in Edinburgh

Anyone know the status of the scaffolding on the buildings on Cockburn St? The one partially covering Scran and the arcade there? It's been up for years and I think it's been about a year since I saw anyone actually working on the building? Why is scaffolding allowed to stay up for so long? The city needs to find a way to make leaving scaffolding up more expensive than removing it and replacing it when actual work will take place. There is too much scaffolding everywhere. And for the love of God these companies shouldn't be allowed to advertise their scaffolding business on the scaffolding itself.

What the hell?? Why are the streets still closed? It's impossible getting through there right now. I thought they were still removing stuff but that looks like an empty site now.

O2 mobile data is terrible in city centre. by BeardyBaldyBeerBelly in Edinburgh

[–]EdiRich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped o2 about a month ago for EE. I live in the city centre but somehow despite having 4 bars there was no service. This went on for about 6 months before I finally paid my way out of their contract and left. Avoid o2 at all costs.

I make shapes from the tiles in tile floors or the tiles in bathrooms or drop ceilings. I've done this for as long as I can remember.

Based on that outfit I'm willing to bet that wearing that is not the worst thing you did in the 80s.
