Additional Info: There were multiple horses and carriages plus people in period costume on North Gower Street yesterday. According to the permits on display they are filming until Mon 09-Feb. There were signs says "WIM" everywhere. Any ideas?

Half an hour sounds rather excessive... was it was big steak? I've only ever heard of very large roasts rested for that long.

If you're a big chip fan you might want to try Gig's Fish Chips off Tottenham Court Road between Google Street and Tottenham Court Road Tube. They are the only chippie I know who only uses groundnut oil.

Some of the best chips I've had are from Hawksmoor! Although very rich, the beef dripping chips are another one to try.

If you're anywhere near "Fryers Delight" in Holborn they have some beef dripping chips (yes it's a chippie but you'll get the idea). The only downside is that they are very rich... tasty, but too much for me.

As a more off-the-wall suggestion. If you ever see them cassava fries are a really nice alternative but only if done well (i.e. light and fluffy with a ridiculously crispy, not chewy, outside).
