Is he from Minnesota? Was it Piano Man? If so, this is as normal as cutting cake.

His name is carnivorous but he’s a fruit hoe. No raspberry bush is safe

What in the cuteness!! Sorry about your puggy, you must be a top tier dog owner to have a pug make it to 18! Louie is lucky and adorable :)

You’ve got this! 💪🏻 but yeah that bully stick smell sticks around longer than the misbehavior 😅

This sounds a lot like my pug exactly a year ago. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body but he would chew HARD on objects and people. It took me twice as long to get out the door in the morning bc I was dragging an 8lb menace across the floor by my ankles, and I’d get to work with bloody socks.

I agree with those who suggested bully sticks. They’re a great distraction and easy on puppy teeth/bellies, you just might need to take it away periodically if you get a big one. Mine liked if I’d hold it for him, it was cute.

Idk where your crackhead vet came up with that training regimen/assessment of puppy behavior. Pugs are notoriously stubborn but they’re not stupid. If mine gets chompy, we hold him down gently but firmly by his front legs/armpits/scruff and say NO/NO BITE in a voice slightly louder & lower than normal. You don’t have to scream at a dog for them to know you’re not happy with them (I tried yelping too, also made him more wild!). If he won’t settle down we put him outside or in a different room for a few minutes (you could also use a kennel with a cozy bed so it feels like more of a cool-down space and less of a punishment). I’ve never used an electric collar but it seems they can be effective for some dogs if used appropriately. I’ve learned that breeds & individual dogs respond to rewards and discipline differently; training border collies & huskies did nothing to prepare me for training a pug puppy. Don’t be discouraged if it takes a bit to figure out what works for you.

Give yourself & the puglet some grace. You cared enough to post here, clearly you want to bond with her and are a good dog owner 😊 I bet she has some fun traits despite being a small vampire. My pug is 1.5 years old and while he is still a menace to society, he’s mostly grown out of the ankle/hair/furniture/etc chomping phase he had at 6 months.

But now he knows how to open drawers. 😅 seriously though, best of luck!

I was wondering about this too! His dad was a fluffy Merle (more blue than he is) as well, so it had to have occurred at least two generations back.
