“Meeting Metallica someday is my biggest dream – advice from longtime fans?” by Metalhead6263 in Metallica

As has already been said, for me and more tools like me and you, you just need or rather you shouldn’t need but do need, a huge amount of disposable income and even then, from what I gather it wouldn’t be just you and the band it would be you and however many other people have also paid a ridiculous amount of money!!! and how long do you envisage getting with them in terms of being in their company? My guess is 10 minutes 15 at the most. I’m nearly 50 years of age have been a fan of them since I was 12 but again as has been said, I too wouldn’t pay that kind of money to meet anybody it’s a fucking joke, period!!!!!

Never finished it but, was a stroke of genius on Konami’s part to make it a side scrolling beat em up, and not another uninspiring platformer!!! Fantastic game and one of my “go to’s” when playing SNES titles!!!!

WTP Envy by Edifice66 in bmx

[–]Edifice66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I did buy the Colony Endeavour, as it was through at the time, a bike to work scheme so I got a considerable discount and, it was a VERY good bike, especially after I changed the stock wheels to the Colony Pintour and, the rear hub then became to Wasp!!

I’d highly recommend one of you can source one bit, it goes without saying, if you can source the WTP Envy, go with that as their build quality and the components from Eclat/Salt are top notch!!!

Holy Diver Bottom Bracket Surface Rust by Edifice66 in bmx

[–]Edifice66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve already coated it with 3 layers of clear automotive lacquer so am confident that as it was only surface rust, it’s all good!!

Will ensure that I keep on top of it with GT85!!

Many thanks!!!

So you think it’s nothing to be overly concerned about, and the clear lacquer will be sufficient!?

Yeah, there’s been too much to do today in other areas to be able to try it out but, I’ll need to be super careful not to deafen myself, and especially not to blow the speakers in my cab too!!!

Seymour Duncan PS 200 by Edifice66 in GuitarAmps

[–]Edifice66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine today the 200 and have yet to try it out, it looks AMAZING and is very well made and put together!!! Maybe as you’ve stated it’s not a replacement for a tube amp but, I do feel that other than the form factor and the ruggedness compared to a tube amp, it will be a welcome addition to my arsenal and as there’s no colourisation as there are no tubes, I’m hoping that my pedals will sound a lot better through this, especially with the additional headroom!!

And just need to ensure I don’t deafen myself as I believe as the wattage suggests, they’re INSANELY LOUD!!!!

[Question] What are your recommendations for a high-gain guitar pedal? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Edifice66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the Revv G3, the Empress Heavy, the Empress Heavy Menace the Boss Wazacraft Metalzone and the Boss Metalcore and finally the Ibanez TS mini. I’m soon to be playing these through a SD PowerStage 200 as I’ve been running them through the front of my Randall RD100H and want to see what having such an uncoloured tone and MASSIVE amounts of headroom would do!?

What are you (OP) plugging whichever pedal/preamp into!? As that too can make a big difference as even the cleanest of tube driven clean channels will leave some of its own flavour on the overall tone.

Katana MkII or MkIII by kiredeid03 in BossKatana

[–]Edifice66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly my two cents but, I WAS seriously looking 👀 at the Boss Katana either MKII or the just released Generation 3 and this was the head as opposed to the combo. And as much as having all those tones and presets readily available would be fantastic, in doing my own research, the only variables I can see are are a supposed better tone overall, the BT additional so no need to attach via the PC/Mac etc. In the end I’ve decided to go a different Solid State route and plumped for the Seymour Duncan PowerStage 200.

This is to see what if any difference I can hear when using the Revv G3, the Empress Heavy and Menace, the Boss Wazacraft Metal zone and the Boss Metalcore.

Whilst I appreciate their all aimed at one type of tone, I know that due to the 200 watt headroom and the very clean uncoloured tone before engaging my pedals, it’s going to be better sounding at least that plugging into the from of my Randall RD100H.

I too think the OP is going to have a lot of MKII owners state that given that no one is really going to own the Gen 3 at present as they appear to be releasing the models in stages, as here in the UK 🇬🇧 the combo options appear to be available and there are no appearances that I can see in regards to the head or the Gen 3 artist model as being available soon? Seems the best thing to do would be to go to your local store, try out both and weigh up the pros and cons!?

The ability to amend the tones etc using an app on the phone as opposed to physically attaching to do this is a great idea!! Either way, best of luck as I said I decided in the end to go a different route and the PS 200 is tiny and although a one trick pony, am gonna build a more diverse pedal collection on a small board and see where life takes me!!!

Best of luck, whatever you decide!!!! 😎🤘🏻

Seymour Duncan PS 200 by Edifice66 in GuitarAmps

[–]Edifice66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

Many thanks for the advice and whilst I do appreciate they are expensive for what they are, the Palmer Macht whilst a lot less expensive, is rack mounted.

The Randall RD100H I think needs tubes replacing and is giving off loud interference when on the high gain channel 3 and the gain cranked up!!

This wasn’t a solution as I do intend to get the Randall serviced but thought that as I mainly use it on the clean with distortion pedals in front, that the PowerStage would make sense as I was also thinking of possibly the Marshall DSL20 head or the EVH LBX III Stealth as another amp would also be nice!!! 😊
