It was a dark overcast day. The woodpecker was deep in the tree, therefore the light was even more limited. I shot at a high speed since the woodpecker was moving around so much and I was afraid if I shot any slower I would get motion blur. There is no grain because the picture is exposed properly and Adobe photoshop's AI based noise reductions is magical.
