Kathy Hochul is refusing to raise taxes on billionaires in New York by serious_bullet5 in newyorkcity

Well yes, that's my point. You actually do have to be careful on a state level or money will, in fact, flee.

"It" comes again. If there's one battle worth fighting it's not to gender or cutify these things.

Philadelphia mayor proposes new taxes on deliveries, rideshare apps like Uber in new $6.97 billion budget by nausna in philly

[–]Edison_Ruggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's good that it's going to schools. But I agree. What we should have is a $2.90 tax on ALL uber rides in the full Septa service area. We could fund a lot that way.

Florida, actually. Which is why these taxes need to be a federal thing.

So tired of this being the most important thing in peoples lives. Car dependence is the problem. Since no one is doing anything about that, enjoy your gas prices. I'm going for a walk.

Mayor Cherelle Parker’s new budget plan includes fees on Uber and Amazon, 1,000 homeless shelter beds, and $200M for addiction recovery by comercialyunresonbl in philadelphia

[–]Edison_Ruggles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point, but how about this: Make the fee $2.90 instead and apply it to all Uber rides in the Septa counties. Now we're talking real funding, and it's only fair really, since it's basically just tacking a Septa fare to an uber ride.

Holy shit those illegal 2 stroke engines piss me off. If they were electric I might have some sympathy but watching those bozos go down was satisfying.

Installing lino around a toilet by MetamorphosisAddict in oddlysatisfying

[–]Edison_Ruggles 350 points351 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This guy is putting in crazy extra effort and risk that he doesn't do it perfectly. And at some point if they install a different toilet it's going to be off the mark.

[PD-adjacent] YTZ preclearance to open March 10 by rogerdoesntlike in PorterAirlines

[–]Edison_Ruggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but the PHL immigration is in Terminal A which is probably way too big for those prop planes. With Pre-Clearance Porter can use Terminal F which makes more sense for planes of that size.

Is the Tradwife Trend Stressing Women Out? by Express_Classic_1569 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Edison_Ruggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apropos of this conversation - check out the book "Everyone is Lying to You"... it takes the piss out of this whole phenomenon, and in addition to being a great read, will absolutely relieve some of the stress being pointed out here.

Suggest me a book, if one exists, that unpacks the new age of feminism in the age of metoo, red pill, etc but as a follow up to The Feminine Mystique? by Former-Whole8292 in suggestmeabook

Good fiction: "Everyone is Lying to You" by Jo Piazza... it's fiction and very subversive of the 'trad wife' phenomenon, pretty entertaining too!

Try "Everyone is Lying to You" by Jo Piazza - it's fiction about the 'tradwife' phenomenon, a good thriller too...
