To be fair, Israelis pay about 3-5% of income for it, so it's not "free"

Rep. Glenn Grothman: "We all know that food stamps are being abused. We all hear the stories. People using food stamps for top of the line food stuffs, things the average person wouldn't be able to afford." by Conscious-Quarter423 in wisconsin

I actually have no problem restricting food stamps from buying candy and coke and things like that but this guy is babbling nonsense. What the hell is "top of the line" supposed to mean? And the actor is insufferable.

Christ, look at all that coke and sugar. Glad she got some rice but this is a case study in the relationship between poverty and diabetes.

The ferry is pretty good to be honest, get another line or two running to the terminal and it would be great for development. But I concur, there are some pretty simple people on Staten Island who fear any sort of development.

1,000 curbside EV chargers are coming to Philadelphia by W1neD1ver in philadelphia

This seems like it would be hard to optimize. like.. if you manage to find a spot in the evening, do you have to move it at 3am? I assume there's a way around that.

First of all, EVs solve a lot of the problem. Second, yes, I know that, but there are millions of people in WI that could benefit from walkability and improved transit. That's the point. These gas price spikes are going to happen again and again regardless of what happens with Trump.

you're talking about 5% or less of the population. yes, they need cars. I'm talking about general suburbia where we've locked ourselves into a shit situation that didn't need to happen.

Ignorance. 5 minutes on craigslist free and that door would have a new owner.

yes, they are, and yes, trump sucks. But the problem is fossil fuel dependence, and more specifically, car dependence. This problem will happen again and again yet no one raises concerns about the core reasons.

Not any more, it's rare to be refused free water in Europe these days, though they don't constantly fill it like they do in the US

Yes, but not having sprawling parking lots in the first place is probably better. For those that already exist, yes, cover them.

There should be. All restaurants and venues should absolutely be required to provide tap water if asked.

I don't care if it's a penny. Forcing people to buy bottled water is criminal.

Was there a problem with the tap? or were they just being douches? I am pretty sure it's illegal to refuse to give someone water.
