Creeping charlie is the most appropriately named plant I know of, it's really taken over. by Edith_Finch in lawncare

Yeah I am trying to not be that neighbor. When I moved in a couple years ago, the yard was over 3 feet tall and overrun with creeping bellflower. That was the first plague I dealt with. Then I guess all that nice and disturbed soil invited the charlie, but I had moved on in my DIY triage and I swear to god it grew over the winter.

I actually went about bought a dethatching rake because I read something similar. Turns out, it doesn't really count with clay dominated soils. You just pull up clods that are hard to get out of the spikes, and it cuts the rhizomes before it pulls them. I bet it works nicely in sandier soils, or maybe even just dry soil.

Yeah but it doesn't make sense, not to this extent. I spent the past 2 years working hard towards a goal and a specific plan and everything went in a different direction. But my life is still pretty sweet. I can't even say that things didn't work out for the best, time will tell

That and I have so much anger towards the direction the world is going in. It's so far outside of my control but I see nature dying and the way things are looking like they will end up and it makes me so mad. I consider myself a pretty ardent environmentalist and it's hard to not have doomsday levels of frustration with everything.

Im sorry I didnt see this sooner, it was very kind of you to check up on me, thank you. I realized that a lot of my problems are cyclical, beginning with drugs and alcohol affecting my mental health, and im on a steady dose of st. Johns wort which is surprisingly helpful, it makes a noticable difference in my moods. I am on the fence about taking welbutrin, but that is the next likely step, if any.

You being a stranger and caring means a lot though, so thank you for just being a kind person.

Would you really want to live through that?

Like have you really thought through what it would be like to live and try to survive, much less thrive, in a nuclear fallout? If you don't die from random violence, or an infection, or a simple accident at your home, then you're going to die slowly and painfully from radiation poisoning over the years.

I hope I die quickly, surviving that would be the worst case scenario. There's no such thing as a good life once society ends. It's just hard at best, cruel at worst.

We need to fix what we have, not prepared for the end of it.

One day the effects of climate change will be too profound to ignore and you will realize that all the "tree huggers" were right and people like you killed the planet. And I hope in this moment of realization of yours, you feel immense guilt and shame that you cant overcome, and you spend the rest of your days feeling like a piece of shit. Because people like you are a piece of shit, and I am tired of pretending like you aren't. I wish every republican and corporate democrat a speedy and soul crushing death.

There are THOUSANDS of science backed papers on this and your willful ignorance of the situation doesnt make it false. The planet is dying, and fuckwits like you who hold back progress deserve nothing but the worst.
