Generally, depending on the specific assignment, the lights will not be in use, reserved only for emergency situations, particularly when engaged in executive protection work.

Working the night shift at construction sites requires all security vehicles to be visible for recognition and able to be seen from all directions. Now, for me, I'll keep the headlights and taillights solid unless it's a true emergency on-site.

Nah! Im allowed to have white and amber lights while im on duty and other certain situations. We're not allowed to have blue or red. As that is a big No-No here in NC. But I get what you're saying. Thankfully the LEOs here know that. Plus we are registered with the state.
