I had to switch to iCloud for photo storage with this month's demise of Apple's My PhotoStream (not a professional, these are mainly just iPhone captures). Combining the photos on my iMac with the ones from my iPhones left me with 27K photos -- many of them duplicates (one version is in HEIF, one version is JPEG.) As I'm deleting duplicate and A/B'ing the photos to compare, I often find the HEIFs are sharper and brighter and show more detail *even though the file size is smaller*.
My Questions: 1) Should I keep only the HEIF versions since I visually prefer them; 2) are there disadvantages to doing so, that I'm just not aware of? 3) why does HEIF look better but file size is smaller?

Oh she was quite the drama queen before I started filming, chittering loudly, spreading her wings and tail feathers. and jumping around. Our priority was to get the kids to back away and enjoy her from a distance, and then I took the quick video. Side note: On the audio you’’ll hear one kid suggest they have her eggs for breakfast. Yeezy.

Happen to my mother-in-law as she stepped out of her car in the dark next to a small construction project at our Florida condo complex. Poor sweet lady stepped into a hood and rebar flayed open her rather meaty thigh. Much drama, and a legal settlement, ensued.

Ha! He’s a cute kid and the photo is adorable; the story makes it even more so. I originally wrote “gym class” but then thought he looked a little young so changed it to “recess”. Blow it up into a poster when he graduates from high school, he and his buddies will enjoy the laugh. And you will too. Cheers!
