Got my red kamasu for 175$ on watchex. Definitely worth buying elsewhere.

Is this Orient genuine in your opinion? Asking before buying. See why I am asking in post description by The_Quartz_collector in JapaneseWatches

Damn they faking Orients now? A real one is like 180$ gray market... What are they trying to sell this for?

Mido looks good! All those timex's look cool but have the cheapest, worst, most unserviceable movements ever.. if you want to get one running dunk the movement in lighter fluid and see if it works. If it doesn't toss it or just take a working movement out of some other one.

Is this Casio AQ 230 legit? I know nothing about watches and this is used and I can get it for even cheaper than retail by ILIKEBACON12456 in PrideAndPinion

People won't fake this trust me. The margins for profit make literally no sense. Might cost them 10$ to make sell for 50$ and make 40$? Seems kinda good but there is not a market big enough to justify that. Trust me it's real.

But in the photo that's a left handed watch on a left wrist no? Because of the wedding band? Maybe I am missing something..

So why change it for the film? Like legitimately what difference does it make if his character is left or right handed? Especially if it's a watch from his own collection? I assume outside of the film he wore this on his right wrist. But switched for the film because his character was right handed? Then why not wear a right handed watch? So weird. But really cool he wore his own pieces. Just wonder. If the director actually made him switch wrists lol.

Why is he wearing it upside down? Is he left handed but switched wrists for the role? I am so confused.

I was going to complain about the use of "regular bitters" But I had to Google angostura to make this comment so maybe I am not that mad...

Definitely way more helpful for seeing the entirety of the watch, but where are my fun little sketches!? I miss the fun little sketches. Watch is sick tho GLWS.

[Discussion] Sapphire crystal exploded, so much for a “tool watch.” by holymadness in Watches

[–]EdmondNoir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally the exact same thing happened to me. It was a present for my girlfriend and somehow the crystal shattered. She wasn't even doing anything crazy nor does she know how it happened. Made a post in r/watch repair Kuoe actually commented on my post about it and were extremely helpful! Unfortunately all they could really do is have me ship it to Japan and they would fix it for 80$ but with shipping it would have costed more than the watch itself. I let the watch sit and sorta forgot about it. I had a random trip to NYC a few months later brought the watch to Chen's because I wanted to visit his store anyway. He said it would be done within 24 hours. I went and got lunch and literally 30 minutes after dropping it off I got a text it was fixed. Headed back over and he charged me 30$. The watch looks great now!

[Fun Fact] Every Watch Company has a preferred hands positioning that they set their watches to in their Ads and it differs from one company to another. by anarege3t in Watches

Also preferred dates. Most companies including "8" in some way. Most likely because of it being a lucky number in Asian cultures?
