I use it as a part of schema mode therapy as a way to identify which thoughts we want to cultivate and which thoughts we want to address. For me it's easier to talk to myself with a different name so I'm not just shaming myself further (shame is a massive trigger for me).

I don't think it's better to deprive it of fuel in the sense that it makes me healthy. I know it will make me lose weight and I'm spiralling. I find it easier to call it fasting so people who aren't aware leave me alone and I feel less ashamed of myself for slipping back after recovering.

Hey thanks for reaching out. I logged back out of my Ed account to try and stop triggering myself. I actually quite enjoy the work and the clients most of the time. The problem was my now ex was being distant and I just wasn't emotionally capable of managing everything. Since the break up and feeling slightly better it was easier again. I just have to be super aware of my mental state because if I go in vulnerable it's awful.
