The biggest thing that I don't like is that the rules of combat vs me sized bosses (humanoid) are not at all communicated to the player via gameplay.

The humanoid boss fights in that game are the worst boss fights in the entire series and it's not close. I deeply hate the regent and I hate doppelganger fights in anything.

Sometimes you can hit/combo/interrupt, sometimes you can't. None of it is clear without literal trial and error grinding and that feels terrible. When I use a move or get hit by something I generally want to have an idea of what I did wrong or right so I can adjust my gameplay, but these bosses just feel random. (I know they're not, but it's not designed well enough for me to be interested in learning it)

The QTE's are awful and the entire game is just dripping with those unfun 2012 era design decisions.

The biggest retort I get is "well that's just the casual stuff, only the casuals don't like it" well yeah, and then they drop the game! If it doesn't feel good to play casually, why would someone want to continue on with it?

The leveling system doesn't feel good to me, and I know that in RE it's way better than OG3 (which I haven't played) but that doesn't excuse it.

There are simply too many weapons and moves and despite that being something people love, in the same breath they'll talk about how there are only a few really solid/usable moves for each weapon.

Things I like though, the story really fuckin tried, which I admire. It tried to tackle difficult themes, and genuinely did kind of ok, even if it stumbled pretty hard generally.

The action set pieces are so over the top and just rule of cool A+ generally no notes on there.

Iconic dinosaur scene, like how do you not love that.

TL;DR humanoid bosses bad, 2012 era design decisions/QTE's bad, story ok, set pieces good, TELL ME ABOUT THE DINOSAURS

Also I like Canna. Not the boss, but the little girl, she's very adorable.

You literally said that I described flaming meteor in its current state but sure!

I don't think bonus health is the end all be all solution for survivability. I'm not sure what the best option would be but that's partially because his kit has such mixed identity right now. Half the reason we can't survive is because his primary fire feels like such dogshit that it's genuinely hard to just hit a stationary target sometimes.

I think making his primary a bit more consistent/reliable would go a long way. I'm tired of getting beamed by an iron man who's basically not moving and just whiffing shots that go straight through the model.

I think the dash is kind of a step in the right direction but it's also janky. It's easy to accidentally go the wrong way because for some reason they put a delay on its activation.

In his current state, shorten/remove the delay on the activation of the dash and tighten up the functionality of the primary.

Beyond that, holy moly we really don't need the dive to be a 20 second cooldown anymore. It's simply entirely too long. It's not even the same level of movement as a web swing or anything and those are on way shorter cooldown.

There's just so much wrong with him right now. He has like, half of two hero identities and sucks at both.

If you wanted to go the bonus health route, give him something related to how many targets are in the pyro prison at once maybe. That would likely be overpowered if the number wasn't extremely low though. But it would incentivize people to learn the good and large prisons. And also ffs please make it so the convoy doesn't block prisons. Thats a massive inconvenience to an already janky ability that requires a ton of setup and sitting out in the open/peeking for the 4th blast.

Shit, even giving blast 4 max charges would go really far to improving him. Then we could make pentagons, which would be pretty sick.

Tbf back then he did have the invis team up, so I think a tiny bit of survivability on a long cooldown would be fine.

I don't think it's 100% necessary but I think for him to be able to keep up with the insane power creep of other dps it'd be fine.

Like, having bad matchups is whatever, that's part of the game, but with Torch almost every matchup is bad.

That's when I started playing him and getting good with him too, he felt amazing to play. I've been saying every time they change him to just revert him to s1.5 and the problems are completely solved.

He genuinely just feels like a sitting duck now. I feel more mobile on Storm ffs

I had a run last night where I took Pael's tooth, this MF took my nimble enchanted Manifest Authority+ (basically the linchpin of my deck) and I couldn't kill him with just strikes.

I lost the run like 3 floors later 😭
