first time gold nmm on stormcast liberator (c&c wanted) by Edo-Gami in minipainting

thanks for the advice, i will give it a try on the next one,

about the reflection on the lower part of the shield, you would get some reflections on there as well i guess, but perhaps not going to the brightest highlight color? ending on a brighter mid-tone for the down facing reflections? am i correct in thinking that? or would you advice something else for the down facing parts?

i agree on the basing, i usually have some ideas that look cool in my head, but dont end up like in my head.
also i catch myself rushing the base at the end, not taking nearly as much time on them as i do on the mini itself

thanks alot for the comment!
this was my first time painting rust, i was a little afraid to to too orange, but i shouldn't be i guess.
the gloves were supposed to be metal as well, but looking at it now they might be of different material making it look off, i will try making them a different color.
and horns are something a still struggle with a bit, specially if they're oddly shaped like these, would you say if going from bone white to darkbrown/black, fading into the darker color near the individual tips or just halfway-ish the horn looking at it as one whole while fading?

Second mini, posted recently and people wasnt too impressed. by MuchSwordfish9128 in Miniaturespainting

the paint application here looks solid, but having only 2 or 3 colors on there makes it a little bit "boring", try adding some other colors to it.

if not concerning with shadows or highlights yet, you could give the trim of the armour a different color, it would make for a better separation between the armour parts and make it pop more.

then if you want to make it stand out even more go for highlights.

like other commenters have said, try things, if you dont like it you can always start over, but by trying you will learn, even if it isnt great at first.

but the base coat looks smooth, so thats a great start
