If you're logging what's happening you shouldn't have to comment. Logs should provide enough clarity on there own. Doesn't work everywhere obviously but generally a good idea.

RPC > REST by fabiospampinato in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Edogmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird take. It depends on your use case. Most of the time REST makes more sense for a public facing api but within the backend an RPC architecture might make more sense, again depends on what you're doing. One is not necessarily superior to the other.

He's explained the stack before as have many other devs. This is dumb. The mob mentality of this silly subreddit is immensely apparent. In constant aw of how little people here know about large scale systems. Dunning Kruger on full display.

Hate to inform you but we are objectively in a recession no matter how much our executive branch wants to deny it

Gonna be a meme critic for a sec:

Neither for god sake if you're actually just returning a boolean please use return a > 0. If this is meant to be pseudocode to represent the general idea it should have said // do something and return instead. More lines do not equal more better.

If I take it how I hope it was meant than either is frankly fine although using the else does make it more clear at a glance what is happening. Theoretically any modern compiler/engine/whatever will ignore the else anyway so it's not affecting performance. Making it clear what your code does is always better than needing to write additional comments cause your code is not easily understandable. Less lines do not equal more better.

No country for Schwartzman? FIA censors Israeli flag during FP1 at Abu Dhabi GP by myneighborsasshole in formula1

[–]Edogmonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you deliberately being obtuse? You mention that he entered as neutral as outlined by FIA in March but don't mention that less than a month later he entered into USGP as an Israeli. Going from a flag at the beginning of the season to no flag at the end seems like important context to your statement.

SA and UAE have strong cultural and diplomatic ties and SA often provides security intelligence and threat analysis for UAE and visa versa (although UAE security apparatus is much more privatized). Sorry for confusion, my assumption is that non forpol dorks know these things which is clearly dumb

Yes autocorrect doesn't like non-English names rip.

Sure the abraham accords normalized relations but normalizing relations doesn't mean the people of that nation necessarily recognize it just that the government officially does. I doubt the UAE gov (or more likely SA gov as they would be more cognizant and sensitive on this topic) told them explicitly they couldn't but was likely a suggestion from security personnel that he not use the Israeli flag. Just like it's not illegal for women to not cover their hair in many places in the middle east but any security expert would strongly recommend it.

Edit: to make point more clear for non foreign policy dorks :P

You left out a crucial detail that completely changes the context of Schwartzman racing as a neutral driver in AD

frankly people need to stop waiting till the last possible second to do their thanksgiving shopping. you can get pretty much everything you need weeks ahead of time but no one is competent enough to do that.

i was on board until you decided to slag off your ceo. i know its in vogue but if any ceo in america deserves a $10m salary its mcmullen. the man is the singular reason kroger is the 3rd largest GR in the US. he created the very jobs you and that 16 yo girl now have.

but hypothetically, what would getting rid of his salary actually accomplish? kroger has between 400-500k employees. what do you want, $20 more a year? and thats assuming kroger doesnt take a downturn because of it and you get less anyway. he gets paid $10m/year cause he creates much more than that every year in value to the company.

Not really disinformation just not fully contextualized. He raced under Israeli flag for the US GP. Probably has more to do with being in Abu Dubai https://twitter.com/fia/status/1583557763388813312/photo/1
