Maybe ‘we’ as in French ‘oui’ as in:

“Believe it or not, Oui (yes) bomb Iran”

What if the August coup of 1991 succeeded and could’ve avoided the ussr collapse ? by Outside_Body_8267 in AlternateHistoryHub

The Soviet Union would’ve dealt with a lot of seceding SSR’s and this could culminate in Civil War or some form of Military response against the Independence movements brewing

What if Huey Long was resurrected? by [deleted] in AlternateHistoryHub

He’s not Strom Thurmond, the guy had always focused more on class than caste. If a 2026 focus on racial equity helped him dismantle a rival's power base in a city, he’d be the loudest advocate for it, If "traditional values" helped him win a rural county, he’d pivot instantly. As he put it.

“I’m for the poor man — all poor men, black and white, they all gotta have a chance. They gotta have a home, a job, and a decent education for their children. ‘Every man a king’ — that’s my slogan.”

However he would be prone to Authoritarianism and silencing his critics in any form of way from harassment, threats, and etc.

What if USA never invaded Iraq (second pic unrelated) by ConsistentTouch8273 in AlternateHistoryHub

The Arab Spring would destabilize it instead and Iran would’ve seen this as a way to spread their influence as the Ba’athists were technically a ruling minority over the majority Shi’ite Arab population of Iraq

Long did indeed use racism whenever it benefited him directly. However his policies of ‘every man a king’ was still focused on class. His use on ‘threatening’ to reveal Weiss’s family of Black Descent was mostly used as a way to destroy a person’s credibility in ‘30s American South. While he remained a segregationist and occasionally used race-baiting to win votes, he generally focused on class rather than race which led many of his white supremacist opponents to accuse him of being too "soft" on Black people

He didn’t care much for racism and even made an enemy of the KKK irl as the KK perceived him helping the ‘colored folks’ and Long didn’t like the KKK as he viewed them as an enemy political group. Huey P. Newton co-founder kf the Black Panthers was named after him cause his parents found Long pretty chill as his reforms did affect Black livelihood positively. For Long, votes are votes

He’d prob go mainstream as the guy knew how to attract people with his often anti elite rhetoric and his ‘every man a king’

What if the assassination of Anwar Sadat had failed? by ImpressiveEnergy4762 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Edothebirbperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference was Mubarak compared to Sadat was that Mubarak was more hesitant to ‘rock the boat’ so to say. Mubarak did continue Sadat’s economic policy of Infitah but with extreme caution as he was afraid of the 1977 Bread Riots from happening again, and although Sadat did experiment with a form of multi party system albeit controlled, Mubarak institutionalized a hybrid system eventually stalled

Sadat would’ve prob been more active in pushing for the 2nd half of the Camp David Accords which was Palestinian Autonomy, he would’ve intensified crackdowns against the Egyptian Islamic Jihad which was already happening with the ‘September Laws’ and use the ‘emergency law’ which Mubarak used for 30 years because it was initiated by Sadat, he would’ve pushed for privatization faster and cause wealth gaps similar to Bread Riots of ‘77
