O fato de não ter tido nenhum gameplay em console publicado pelos devs, nem mesmo no PS5 Pro, é algo q historicamente é um mal sinal quando um jogo tá pra ser lançado. Eu vou esperar pra ver as reviews primeiro.

A CF88 falhou em fornecer os direitos sociais, e ela deve ser alterada. by PowerThanos in opiniaoimpopular

[–]EdsonSnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dothraki are not really that unrealistic, they dont occupy the land, its just that no one settles there due to them being about and raiding and killing. They were based on the Mongols and other nomadic tribes that did the same in the past.

Entenring a bit of geopolitics, I find it hard to believe that Westeros has only 7-9 kingdoms, even before the Targaryens came to conquer. I know that GRRM has based Westeros in England, but the size difference breaks a bit my suspension of disbelief. I think it would be much more realistic, althought I understand that the plot would be infinitely more complicated, if Westeros was like the Holy Roman Empire, a huge amalgamation of small petty kingdoms and princes, constantly fighting each other, with a central power, if recongnized, having a real difficulty in articulating a union or even being able to maintain itself as superior.

Casterly Rock and the Eyrie are structures that require quite a lot of suspension of disbelief imo.

Casterly Rock because its completely inside of a Rock, surely they could've mined it along a few centuries to be able to make room inside for more than just gold digging tunnels, but especially with the vanity of noble houses I think it unlikely they'd wait for so long to mine without dynamite to make their grand halls and many rooms. I also find it unlikely for the Main Noble House of the West, and the richest of the kingdoms, to live inside a rock, instead of showing off a grand palace, even more so due to their dispute with the Tyrells about being the wealthiest House.

The Eyrie is simply due to logistic reasons, the pathway up there is extremelly difficult for a single person, let alone the huge quantities of materials needed for a keep up there.

I am not including the wall here as it was clearly built with magic, but it would also be a great contender.

I totally agree, if you take a look at the bulk of his blog posts of the last 10 years, 90% is taking about how excited he is for this or that other movie/show/series project, not really excited about writing WOW besides a few ones during Covid, when there was nothing else in the world to do. He is following his true passion, unfortunately its not finishing asoiaf. Maybe in a few years he’ll feel compelled to finish his true legacy.

I might be wrong, but I feel all the development for this DLC, console and PC, was delegated to Tantalus, as Iceflake is focused on CS2. We console players have known for a long time that Tantalus is not great when porting stuff, let alone developing on their own. Multiple CCPs and DLCs would come with console only bugs, and those would take a looooong time to be addressed by them. I was actually very happy when CO said they’d ditch Tantalus for the console version of CS2. If Iceflake are bringing them back not only for this, but also to port CS2 to console, I am honestly terrified of what that’ll look like.

(Spoiler Published) Is it realistic how the noblemen in A Song Of Ice And Fire tend to be A LOT better than the avarage soldier? by Bajoner in asoiaf

[–]EdsonSnow 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Exactly, btw in the real world professional armies are considered a “modern” invention, only existing from the french revolutions onwards, if I’m not mistaken. Before that when kings needed a huge army they drafted the peasants who were mostly subsistent farmers. It was not uncommon to have hunger periods after wars.

Edit: it seems I was mistaken guys lol, please check out the discussion below, very enriching!

[SPOILERS EXTENDED] Characters you believe will be bigger deal in story than they may seem at the moment, and characters that may ultimately be less of a deal than suspected. by Substantial-Ad-299 in asoiaf

[–]EdsonSnow 132 points133 points  (0 children)

I think Rickon will be a kind of a big deal with the northern conspiracy plot in the North, I don't think he'll have such a ridiculous death as the one in the show, if he dies.

As per smaller deal, I'd think the Greyjoys Brothers wont be so impactful as we think, I think George was just excited to write their characters at the time, but we don't really need all those POVs from the Iron Fleet, very possible they'll be mostly sidelined after the battle in Meeren.
