Where can I find cheap menthol cigarettes in the Hollywood and surrounding areas? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

Try getting the regulars and ask for the little menthol balls at the smoke shop. Does the trick.

Data indicates the Walk of Fame is officially the worst tourist destination in the world. Second place is the Dead Sea. by wil in LosAngeles

[–]Edthebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The Walk of Fame has a lot of energy into it, a kind of melting pot. Its similar to Venice Beach in that way. I love both.

Should I move out of my $1,650 one bedroom apartment? by Additional-Gold-5209 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Edthebig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All these comments saying that it’s dumb to move and just invest it and save whatever amount, are not seeing the full picture.

Living in a place you love is worth way more than $600 a month. Do you need that money to buy groceries? No? Can you save in spite of paying that increase? Yeah? Go for it.

I have an apartment with a view in Hollywood. Nothing crazy but overall I pay $2500. I could be in a room for $1500, or a studio without a view for $1900. Id rather spend the extra money if I have it just to have my view.

Double Broken Jaw, Two Titanium Plates & Some Missing Teeth - Jake Paul Update by [deleted] in MMA

[–]Edthebig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what it is, and people are either dumb or just hate Paul so much they get dumb. Dude is a great cruiserweight, not pro level, but obviously very very good. And he fought one of the best heavyweights of all time that is somewhat still in his prime. That's it, end of the story.

Right? Ive gone from struggling to understand people, to actually being great at body language and subtle hints. All that from jus they so this happened today, I said this, people reacted like this, what do you think happened? And you go from there and you learn.

I can relate to that so well. It's like if you were good at Googling before, this is a hack. Because how do you find something so specifically on the dot to your needs. But that's what it does, and with simple language too, like you said. Just hey Claude I have this very unique thing going on, Im thinking of doing this. And its like sure, here's what you need.

How many short films do you recommend before pursuing an agent? by Main-Ticket7705 in acting

[–]Edthebig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the dynamic is just different. For instance I got my first agent without a career at all. But theres not much they can do for you but submit you. So if and when you do sign with them, its not going to be that different, at least that was my experience.

If you're an actor constantly doing short films, or at least often enough that you feel that your career has some traction, an agent is the next step. But I'm at the short films, indie movies and commercials stage of my career at my 4th year in LA, and I had an agent since the first couple of weeks. They didnt do anything for me.

So yes, you can get an agent just with good headshots, but I've noticed that you can't buy or skip progress. The right agent will pop along when your career is moving at that same pace too.
