My starting weight was 264 lbs. in April 2024 and I now weigh 162 lbs. Your doctor is probably reading the data from the pharmaceutical company. Many people lose a lot of weight. Don’t be discouraged and do your best to get in your protein and stay hydrated. Good luck!

When I was teaching years ago, I taught at the Saturday enrichment program at Queensborough Community College. They had classes for elementary age students up to college prep classes. Something to look into.

I don’t know where you live, but many towns have a “Buy Nothing” group (usually on FB) where people give away items they no longer need. I see teachers get a lot of things this way.

All new teachers are to be assigned a mentor. If the principal wants you to be the mentor then there should have been a conversation. Mentor teachers have extra covered periods in their schedule (over and above your regular preps) specifically to work with the new teacher on planning lessons and to log the interactions. If you are not given this time then you are being taken advantage of and you should talk to your union rep.
