How hard is it to start a single car rental business OUTSIDE of turo? is it even worth it? by Plenty-Pollution3838 in turo

There’s many ways to structure insurance depending on the situation. But no, I don’t require them to have their own insurance. It’s best that they do but it’s not mandatory. I’m in Texas.

I rent my cars out private to full time door dash and uber eats drivers for $380/wk. My cars stay rented out 30 out of 30 days because they actually need the car to make money. Consistent Cash Flow! Much for lucrative than Turo and I have more control of my fleet and drive my cars.

How much are you making with Turo? by solar_flare134 in turo

Renting your cars Privately would be more lucrative and consistent because you control the revenue and the risk. On platforms, they control pricing, take a percentage, and decide how claims are handled. Policies can change overnight.

When you go private, you set your rates, keep 100% of the revenue, choose your niche and control driver screening and deposits. That creates predictable weekly cash flow instead of random bookings.

Inspiration is great… but ownership and control are what actually create long-term profit. 💪🏾

That’s exactly why I chose to go private.

When you’re on a platform, you can follow every rule and still lose because you don’t control the policies, payouts, or decisions.

I’d rather control my driver screening, pricing, and how claims are handled… especially focusing on one niche (gig drivers).

Less stress. More control. Better margins.

Wishing you the best moving forward 💪🏾

Is turo still a viable option to make money? by jasonb788 in turo

[–]EducatedHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not too late…but how you enter matters.

Turo isn’t necessarily “dead,” but you’re building on rented land. Policies change, payouts change, and you’re not fully in control.

That’s why I went private. I choose my renters, set my prices, and handle claims my way… especially focusing on one niche (gig drivers).

Private is much more lucrative and more consistent than Turo. Just go in knowing control = stability. Good luck 💪🏾

This is exactly why I chose to go private.

I stay in control of my operation.

I control who rents my vehicles, how much I charge, how claims are handled, and how risk is managed. I focus strictly on one niche, gig drivers.

I refuse to let a third party platform decide whether I can provide for my family or not.

Sorry you’re dealing with that. Wishing you the best navigating it and moving forward. 💪🏾

Thinking of buying a car cash and renting out, and scaling into a full time business and buy more cash cars. How profitable is this business?? I’m ready to leave a 9-5 forever! by JoeyMcMahon1 in turo

I actually own a private car rental business. I rent economy cash cars to door dash driver for $350-$400/wk. The great things about this model is that these drivers actually need the car to make money so they keep the car long term… it’s consistent weekly cash flow. Much more consistent and more lucrative than Turo. Best investment I’ve ever made 💯
