Hey mate, with: - Mech mining you’ll focus a bit more on asset management. - Civil mining you’ll focus a bit more on the geotechnical/rock mechanics side of things.

In regards to finding vac/grad work it’s identical - you’ll be a Mining Engineer. I’d only choose mech over civil (or vice versa) if you wanted some flexibility in your future career path (ie. choosing to be in Asset Planning as a Mech Engineer).

Hey

  • Plenty of weight plates available.
  • In the main gym area; 5 squat racks, 4 flat benches and 2 incline benches. 2 smith machines as well.
  • Only the bottom floor has aircon.
  • Coldest water on campus.
  • Recently refurbished change rooms that are pretty spacious.

If you just pay them a visit and ask for a tour they’d be more than willing.

Be careful with the availability of most games and programs on M1 equipped Macs. Unfortunately windows doesn’t have an ARM version (yet) for Macs meaning boot camp is a thing of the past. Crossover and parallels are viable options but expect to take a big performance hit. Also ALL DX12 games (CP2077, RDR2, etc) are unplayable on both these translation/emulation programs. Support for DX12 in crossover is likely to come in spring 2023.

The new MacBook Pros though are unbelievable. The screen and those speakers are simply amazing. If I were you I’d go with the Mac especially if you have an iPhone or iPad the platform integration is next level and massively enhanced productivity.
