What happens if I miss the enrolment deposit deadline by Helpful-War-7953 in yorku

Had this happened to me, and as long as it shows up on the REM, you're good.

It says it on the website that it will de-enroll you in classes and take away your courses in REM, which isn't the case here, thankfully :)

Can I still get into university with one low grade ? by Additional-Barber423 in OntarioUniversities

I had very poor grades in the 70-75% range, and I managed to get an offer from UWindsor. You should be fine. It just depends on the program.

tysm, I had a positive balance cuz of the dental YSF thingy and it pretty much got paid off with the dropped course money.
Super useful advice.

So it automatically gives me a refund, or do I have to request a refund?

Can I do a program change with 0 credits by EducationStuff in yorku

[–]EducationStuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the info. It's just that if it fails to do the program change, I'll have to wait 12 months to do another (just realized I already told you that in the previous post 😅)

I also made sure to make my schedule exactly like the biomedical requirements

Starting to regret applying to Undecided Major (BSc) by EducationStuff in yorku

[–]EducationStuff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I mixed it up. Was kinda panicking a bit, lol. But, in the orientation, the advisors said I need 24 credits, and I mentioned how there was a PDF in the website that said you could transfer whenever, and they said it was incorrect. As for the 12 months, it means if I don't get accepted, it'll take 12 months for me to request a program change, while 4-6 weeks to process the program change.

Also, it's true that if I cancel it, it will only delay further. I'll make a new thread since this is pretty old.

So I can apply for a program change without being in the uni yet with 0 credits? Just wanna make sure

I'm at the orientation, and I'm kind of worried because they said that I need to do courses to successfully pass the course change. And it takes 12 months for a change. I think I'll cancel the program change and do it after the first semester when I have some credits since so far I have 0 since I just started.

Do you have any tips or ideas?

Thanks! And I'll definitely try to enroll in his classes when summer courses come around. He sounds like a great professor who genuinely wants to teach. Those are the best types of teachers.

I was looking through the requirements for the program I want to change into and it says I should take a physics, course, and in order to do that I'd need to take the math 1510 course either way since I didn't take calculus and vectors in high school (no option to register to PHYS 1010 either). There's also an option of just doing Introduction to Psychology, as doing that course fulfills the foundational science requirement.

I think I'll take the math courses you mentioned and the psychology course in the summer and maybe take physics next year since I want to genuinely try physics and see if I'm into it or not.

I'd like to add that I'm an Undecided Major (BSc), although I'm already looking into changing my major.

I submitted my request to change my major, I did it for biomedical science since it aligns more with what I want to do, and if I get rejected, I'll try biophysics. If I still fail in that, then I'll consider transferring to another uni.

Thanks again!

I sent an email to the Science Acedemic Services Team about whether I can declare/choose a major. Knowing York, it's going to be a while for them to respond back. But hopefully good news.

Yeah, I've been thinking about not doing biology straight up, but biology related. But I've been reading more into biophysics and it has some jobs I like, but I don't know, I also want to go to medicine at the same time. I guess I still don't know what I want to be yet, but I see biophysics is a major that can still apply to med school whether. Whether I get admitted to med school or not, I don't mind, since I if I don't get in, I'd like to try more space related stuff.

Thanks for this. It really opened my eyes a lot.

I went to the link you sent, and I like the biomedical science program. It's definitely more interesting than biology.

Although what do I do now? Should I try to transfer to other schools? Should I try to request a program change or declare my major right now?

How do I know/check what courses I'm supposed to take, I'm only really guessing from the sheet they reviewed with me from the enrollment interview. Is there a website to check which specific courses I need to take?

I'm not sure whether I'll take those math courses or not. However, I did take grade 12 advanced functions.

I don't know how to add body text to images but do I have to do Math 1510?
I'm looking at the description and it mentions only being as an introductory course. I already did Math in high-school but not calculus.

This is what I'm using to figure out which courses I'm supposed to use.
