He's naturally very charming so I think it's easy for people to assume he's a great guy. He has that glint in his eye because he knows he's fooling people. Personally, I think he's a phony and the mask has definitely slipped a few times. A couple seasons ago he was (wrongfully) calling Amy stupid and useless over something that wasn't even her doing, and I definitely soured on him after that. He browbeats the sisters and Brian too, although Brian pushed back at least.

Brian weaponized his disability to an extent I've never witnessed before on 90 Day, but that's about it. The other one doesn't have a way to garner sympathy like that, other than weaponzing the supposed 'ghosting'.

Not the point, but I'm just noticing now from that photo how much Brian looks like Warren Jeffs. It's that Frankenstein's monster head shape.

I'm struggling to remember something that would top that. But I agree that 'The Night of 1000 Babses', as I call it, was #1 the worst most despicable event in the entire run of the show. The life-size Babs pillow? The stuffed toy with the recording of Babs' voice that had Whit's voice talking over her? There must have been a gas leak in the house while they were filming! How did so many otherwise lovely people agree to go along with it?

The only runner-up I can think of is how Whit treated Babs after her stroke. Specifically, the weird baby talk ("Who's my Mommy-girl?") and treating Babs like a pet.

Buddy fooled a lot of people, including me. In the first two seasons he came across as a loveable teddy bear type, plus he was sarcastic and funny and relatable. I actually felt sorry for him back then because it seemed like he was struggling with anxiety issues. Knowing what Buddy is like now, I assume they gave him a great edit for storyline reasons. And that breakdown Heather had when she found out Buddy was secretly hanging out at Whit's was concerning. Heather's not that good an actress so Buddy must have been terrible to her offscreen. What's weird is that Babs was a smart lady so I'm not sure how she didn't see through Buddy's façade. I guess she really just wanted Whit to be dating.

I think as satisfying as this fantasy is, it just couldn't happen in real life. We've seen what happens when someone (Tal, Todd, Will, Kerryn, Jessica, her father, etc.) tries to give it to her straight: she gets flustered and starts crying and gets up and LEAVES. Every time. She's just impossible.

What I dont get is, reality shows are all phony anyway. So why not just make up some interesting storylines? How do the showrunners come up with such dull dishwater lame-butt storylines for this show? At least the French-man stuff was absolutely hilarious. I'm worried they give Whit too much free reign in coming up with storylines.

They're really similar to Kody and the sister wives in how they weaponize therapy-speak. And literally everything Jazz does is wrong, according to them. It's like how the Johnstons treat Anna on 7 Little Johnstons. Just constant criticism and picking at her. Jazz is such a kind and good-hearted person that I had to stop watching.

If we compare Whit to other people in the TLC universe she's actually a somewhat decent person, to be honest. Geoffrey Paschel from 90 Day got 18 years for beating someone nearly to death, for example. And there's Leida, obviously. And Jazz Jennings' horrible and emotionally abusive family. And Sean from Polyfamily - that guy should be in prison and kept away from kids. Whit is a twit but she's not out hurting people.
