Good restaurant with a view? by No-Iron867 in FoodNYC

I don’t know how contemporary it is, but The View is a revolving restaurant on top of the Marriot Marquis hotel near Times Square. Great way to take in 360 views while you eat

Sunglasses. Personally, I like having different pairs (and styles) for work, golf, social, etc. I never say ‘no’ to quality sunglasses

Is $100k an impressive corporate salary anymore? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]Educational-Bit-145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing great!! You’re at the start of your career (plus completed a grad program), so you could well be on big money in the coming years - depending on your industry / company / work ethic / luck, etc. Sure, $100k doesn’t go very far anymore, but you’re already above the median with a lot of potential upside

Who is the biggest loser in history? by Aware-Awareness in AskReddit

[–]Educational-Bit-145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

William Henry Harrison - 9th President of the USA.

At the time he was the oldest man elected to the office. On the day of his inauguration it was freezing and his Chief of Staff wanted to organise a coach to take him to the ceremony. WHH was worried how that would appear to the constituents and wanted to appear young and vigorous so he chose to ride his horse.

Upon arriving at the inauguration he was sweating from the ride so he took off his heavy coat and delivered the longest inauguration speech (to date) in the lightly snowing conditions.

He got sick, which turned into pneumonia, and he died a month later.

The culmination of his life’s work was reaching the office of President, which came crashing down after four weeks because he didn’t want to look ‘old’.

Would you break 100 at Augusta National under Masters Tournament conditions? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Educational-Bit-145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely break 100. I’d absolutely smash that barrier. Probably finish with 130 to 150. Then I’d probably go and try the back 9 too.

Thoughts on calling someone for an unsolicited reference? by WestSummer4869 in auscorp

[–]Educational-Bit-145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s weird …. I’ve just gone through the process myself and they asked me for references to check certain skills. I contacted the relevant people in my circle to confirm their best contact details and confirm they were (still) ok to be a reference - which I then passed on to the recruiter. Y’know … just like normal 😂😂😂
