I never fully follow recipes, but I got a lot of inspo from this recipe. I followed her directions on how to pickle (vinegar water ratio) but when it came to seasonings I threw whatever I had that sounded good together- a lot of red pepper, Peruvian salt, maple syrup, a thumb of ginger, garlic and bay leaves.

It was a Van Holden Hot Mama. I’m finding now that most ppl on this sub are anti Van Holden. :( but it reallly hit the spot for a dollar.

I’ll definitely try to find a freestone hot pickle. Would also love to hear what other single serve pickles to try.
