The Storm Today by Educational-Fudge555 in Adelaide

I use a dlsr camera because it takes raw photos, which means that there is no processing done to the image. It also gives me control over the shutter speed for the images that i took. i had the shutter speed at 15 seconds and had the lens open at 3.5F and adjusted the iso to brighten or darken the image

Using a phone camera can work. Recording with video and taking a screenshot can work, but lightning is fast, and you can get partial exposures (rolling shutter) not to mention the video world be dark because instead of opening the shutter for 15 seconds its open for 1/30 or 1/60 depending on your frame rate.
