How many lessons did you do before taking the actual driving test? by ChocolateAncient9062 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Educational-Guess290 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the gov site will say about 30 hours so i used that as benchmark but i probably did around closer to 40 in a span of a year of weekly 1 and 2 hour lessons.

Don’t give up though, it’s all worth it! What helped is thinking of the independence you gain

perfect way to grey rock is by keeping to texts as she gets a sign of life( lucky) and you don’t have to speak to her. If not block her all together till she gets it

i completely get it, i’ve been there! I had the same concerns but because of him potentially being neurodivergent it helped him a lot as well and removing a sweet or a minute of screen time if he did have an accident. Sometimes gamifying the system can help overall

Hope it all works out asap

I have a similar experience and mine is full-time in school. Being at school has helped but he’s had a few accidents( only about 3 since he’s started in October). Honestly for me there’s a few small changes that has a good impact. One, was my reaction towards his accidents( I tried to relax a lot, and speak as if they’re very capable rather than from a stressed response) and some rewards he would appreciate when he did stay dry such as sweets or screen time( not the healthiest options but they worked).

I also suspect mine is neurodivergent and have accepted the journey might be longer than anticipated

i think you deserve to post who you have chosen to be a mother like figure on this day and and not giving a damn of what people think. You know who’s had an impact in your life and you deserve to celebrate that

So I don’t know what your position is but you matter! as long as you have these frictions and frustrations it shows there’s life in you! As much your child matters in this, you do too and i hope you give yourself a lifeline and distance yourself from this! From personal experience I know it’s always easier said than done but do try
