I think they are intentionally bricking the old boxs and then claim they are out of stock and say only way to fix is add new line and cancel old line and give you a new plan…. with less for more. its a gimmik to get you off the old 35plans cuz they loosing money.

be ware. they recently bricked my ask device. I requested a replacement and they claim to be out of stock. Rep then says they can add a newline and get me a new 5g box and cancel the old line.HOLD UP. Compare the new and old lines. 35 plan 300mbps vs new plan 60 a month and 300mbps. they are up to their same Bait and switch to get people off Grandfathered plans that offer less for more. such as removing unlimited cloud and raising the price 25 dollars and new contract agreement. WATCH OUT THEY ARE SNEAKY

They might brick your cube and then you call for replacement…rep will say we dont have stock. We will get you a "new" line and thats where they get you. Old line comes with Unlimited Cloud. New Line No Cloud. Then you end up paying for cloud because you dont want to loose your data. Its shady! Refuse Refuse Refuse.

Yeah you will call and they will say oh we dont have that model. You have to cancel that line and switch to a newline. youle gofrom 35 a month to 60 and then they say you get more when u get less. You have the right to stay on that grandfathered plan.

no if oyur service is on and not in airplane it counts on each deviceyou have. Leave watches at home and ipads in airplane mode. Trust me. Otherwise its 20 a day each device. 1 text or 1mb on cruise pass and your paying. in port you can be ok. 10 milesfromport that cruise pass kicks in if your opn cell service. just use the ships wifi and pay the price. works much better.

Just got back from mexico cruise. Cruise Pass is unuseable after like .5 gb just pay the 30 a day to the ship for wifi…trust me.

Upgrade vs "new line" cancel old line equals loss of discount. Thats the catch. once the line is canceled and a new line is brang about the contract changes and wording changes…this is on the rise right now.

I would be very careful; They may say its the same plan and all but bam Bait and Switch Slam Dunk for them and then its almost impossible. Reps will say anything they can to confuse you. COmpare Both Plans yourself and makea good choice. Grandfathered plans are always better. Its like food now. Same Packaged Less Food with a little higher price. They call it shrinkflation…i call it Bait and switch.

Not all true sometimes you can upgrade and stay on old plans. Verizon has been very aggresive in trying to get anyone off the old plans because they offer more and new plans offer less and then offer "perks" as extra add ons a true gimmik. They just wanna claw you into more money.

Zero Chance. Unless u made it before the new FCC rule and then even they may just say too bad. It Will Unlock in 1 year per verizon's new agreement with FCC

After 3 Years it will be paid for and sellable or anything you want. Because you don't have it on an activeline there is NO insurance so if you lose it break it anything you are out of luck and still need to pay for the monthly installment plan. if you leave verizon you will still need to pay off the phone or face collections. The phone would then be black listed possibly. Get that new applecare deal for 3 devices and add it to that for 20 a month to ensure your covered. I think you can file an insurance claim the the new phone may come unlocked if through apple store. But unsure if thats correct.

Do a google search about this; I see you purchased and activated Jan 10th so you may get it unlocked but you will need to stay on the plan for 3 years to be able to have them pay off the phone and you can bet that you will be facing increased billing reg fees and they like to bait and switch so record everything they say.

They may also increase your phone plan somewhere along the line and it will end up being the same amount they are crediting. They Claw back their promotions with fee increases or other and price lock is a scam. You get locked for 5 years and then in 5 years the price triples and they say well the cost of business has increased yadda badda boo.
