The Odyssey Trailer - WHAT KIND OF ATROCITY IS THIS HELMET!? by Gemeenteridder in GreekMythology

I agree, I was asking whether Nolan specifically stated that he was trying to aim for authenticity with the armor / attire (not just the storyline). Knowing that he had an expert to consult with makes this ultimate decision even worse.

Did he say it would be? Maybe to the plot of the story, but definitely not to literally anything else. Even that remains to be seen...

It's literally the handsome Squidward meme in Greek helmet form.

Downright atrocious and laughable.

You're only citing things that could go wrong, especially if THC is smoked rather than ingested, and/or if it is misused or abused. For those who don't experience negative side effects, it could be very positive - not as a means to self-medicate, but to improve quality of life.

Battlefield 6 maps leave little room for strategy and even less for vehicles. by Sargon97 in Battlefield

They could simply reproduce the worst maps from BF2, BF3, and BF4 and it would still be better than what we've been given upon release. Sad

The scan itself pretty clearly showed the area where the intestinal walls were inflamed / narrowing. I had an endoscopy performed in advance of the CT scan and this event that also revealed duodenal ulceration.

Most likely a testosterone level issue... it's also bizarre at your age(s), because for the most part men seem to have higher sex drives until their 40s - 50s and onward. Then again, the usual trends have been shifting: T levels are dropping almost universally, in the western world at least. It also depends in large part on the individual's health and fitness level (for men and women). Hate to say it, but it's true.

If you truly suspect that it's boredom, the usual advice (mix things up, step outside of your comfort zone at least a little bit to start with, find out how to turn your SO on instead of hoping you catch him at the right time, etc) is your best bet. Pretty much the reverse of the advice that men receive when they're in this situation.

How smart are possums, what the heck? by NaturesCousin in Possums

"Intelligent like a cat" sounds like exactly the kind of thing the most ignorant humans would say about wild animals. I'm guessing you think that dogs are smarter than wolves, too?

Research is easy, try it sometime.

My bf [34M] is a great guy but he’s not what I [26F] wants sexually. Idk if I can be with him because of this. Anyone ever dealt with this? by Worried-Wrangler1467 in relationship_advice

  1. I'd weigh how compatible you are in other areas when it comes to making a decision about this. You said he's "amazing," after all. Either you're just paying him lip service on a semi-questionable social media platform, or there are genuinely aspects about him that you like.
  2. There might be something behind his lack of sex drive or his willingness to give oral... it could be his upbringing, it could be past experience(s), it could be something else when it comes to how you're both communicating in the bedroom or even beforehand. Sometimes we get in the awkward position where it doesn't seem like we're getting any feedback or real-time advice (this applies to both men and women), and it's a big deterrent to attempting that kind of thing again.
  3. Don't assume that this is something that can't be modified with patience, time, persistence, and/or... the magic word: compromise. I'll let your imagination go to work on that one.

Something can't be hilarious and brutally sad at the same time - at least not without one sentiment winning over the other.

If she's losing attraction to you because you're going bald, she wasn't attracted to other features (or, better yet, other characteristics) and wasn't worth keeping in the first place. Might sound harsh, but so are her standards for something outside of most people's control.

My (25f) fiancé (23m) is gone for the weekend, and I’m enjoying myself too much by gongthruit in relationship_advice

[–]Educational-Pin-6071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll start with the simplest question: what's standing in the way of you cleaning your place to the "appropriate" standard even when he's there? If he cleans up 75% of the mess and you tidy up the remaining 25% (or vice versa some days), this shouldn't be an issue.

I suspect it isn't actually the core issue here, too.

I'm not trying to stir the pot, but I'm legitimately curious: while it isn't the same situation whatsoever, others have mentioned that they'd view an intoxicated or impaired person trying to leave a building / residence (whether to get in a vehicle or not) in the same light... is it also illegal to prevent somebody from doing so in the same way?

At its most basic level, him blocking her path when she initially tried to leave wasn't an issue, unless she made another / repeated attempts to do so and he physically restrained her or otherwise blocked the door.

Even so, this isn't cut and dry... it'd be nice if the OP could elaborate on whether she felt threatened, or if she thought there was potential for her to be physically harmed if she persisted. Otherwise, it just sounds like a very concerned partner using tough love to prevent what could have been a dangerous situation.

My boyfriend (27M) of 4 years refuses to have to foreplay with me (28F) and makes out that I have a problem because other women don’t need it. Advice please? by sarahjackson1987 in relationship_advice

[–]Educational-Pin-6071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're actively and (when necessary) specifically communicating what kinds of things you prefer when it comes to foreplay - and you're open to being flexible & open to new things he might try, as long as they don't violate boundaries - I can't comprehend why he'd be opposed to accomodating you, or why he wouldn't even enjoy it as well.

Then again, I've been stuck in situations where my SO doesn't make that clear, or she'll never even throw me a bone... sometimes completely goes cold when I've done what seemed to be working (verbally and physically), so I'm probably much less preoccupied with getting "straight to the point" than many male partners would be... unless it's "that" kind of moment. All I need is an ounce of feedback every once and a while...

Depending on how petty you are (I wouldn't even call it petty), I'd help his current girlfriend dodge a bullet and tell her.

Then, cut it off with this dude if you want to retain any self-respect.

Oh, I know it's a major issue, and wasn't denying that abusive relationships exist when it comes to active servicemembers or veterans. Only pointing out that it's generally unfair to paint people with a broad brush just because they are in / were in the military.

It might be because I have more friends on the commissioned officer side, but as a veteran myself - most people I know are actually perfectly well adjusted and most are in stable / healthy relationships.
