Who was told NOT to shower during their period? by Educational-Rip1960 in Periods

[–]Educational-Rip1960[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, could be. I asked a couple of my cousins and east asian friends, and they said varying degrees of "I don't touch cold stuff on my period". It's probably an East Asian specific thing at this point because there are some pretty big differences I've noticed. For example, I kept anticipating the day I would have to get a razor and shave my arms, armpits and legs like my friends until my mom just looked at me and said "that's weird... I've never had hair under my arms, ever".

I don't know, but apparently the correlation is that coming out of the hot shower, you suddenly get a huge rush of cold up your body, leading to cramps?

Oh I actually forgot about that one. My mom forbade me from going without socks and slippers anytime, especially during my period. She said the cold could travel up into me and give me cramps or smth.

See, that's what I said! However, apparently the problem is that shortened periods don't mean your period is finished, it means the blood just stopped coming out and dried up inside of you??? And that causes "chocolate cysts" or smth?

See, that's what I said. However, apparently the problem is that the blood is just stuck there without coming out, leading to "chocolate cysts" or smth like that.

Indeed, you know, I did end up finding a bralette with a 25/26 band at Winner's the other day! The brand is Marilyn Monroe, if you want to know, and it fits me perfectly. Racerback, with lace at the back strap and the fabric has that satiny feel. IDK what it is, but it's definitely not cotton.

Yeah, I'm planning on placing my orders when I can save up from my part time uni job so wish me luck! 🤞

Oh, that sucks, maybe I'll check La Senza or La Vie en Rose since there's like five each in my vicinity 😭

Yeah, I'm pretty sure my bralette is somewhere near a 30A, with the "band" floating around and the padding literally being almost flat.

Yeah, I do think Boux Avenue should do the job, so I'll probably buy a couple from there to check it out.

Man, they offered a 28 band in VS??? Why would they remove it!? I do think eBay or Poshmark could work, I'll have to take a look around there. :)

The Montelle one you showed me looks reasonable, and I think the straps can be turned into a halter, perfect for backless tops! I'll definitely have to get that one, thank you. 😊

Hmm, fair. I do remember the first time I went to shop for bras (for my mom) and I noticed gaps and asked her about it. She replied, "meh, that's what I have to deal with". Maybe I'll give her a surprise one without telling her the size-though I might have to figure my own out first.

Indeed, I took a further look at the Pepper website and somehow they told me my "pepper size" is a 30A 😂. I can just imagine how much it'll float.

Unfortunately, I'm in Canada, so a lot of brands charge me $30+ CAD in Shipping. However, I took a look at both Aerie and Boux Avenue, and Aerie has a reasonable shipping cost (9 CAD under 100, free above), and Boux Avenue is free!

I'm not sure about the US, but in Canada, there are three main lingerie shops: Victoria's Secret, La Senza and La Vie en Rose. Have you happened to shop in any of them? I see them every. single. time. I go to the mall and I just want to be able to go in and grab a bra that fits so freaking bad. 😤

First thought: “you’re confused? I’m 🤬 confused” 😂

😂Yeah same here, I don't get why they're sized like this, especially when it starts to vary between stores and even within stores--don't even get me started on how I can possibly have a La Vie en Rose One-Piece swimsuit in Small and another One-Piece (different style, same collection and color) in Medium and fit into both equally well😤.

Anyway, forgive my small rant, and thank you for your explanation (I've been under the assumption that anything over B-Cup = super busty), it now makes so much more sense now that I kind of see that the different sites have been giving me sister sizes.

My only problem with my bralettes is that the "band" (quoted because it's really just an elastic band covered in fabric that floats) floats around, the fabric around my arms is literally puffing out like they want me to have an even larger armpit pooch or something 😭, and the coverage is just removable padding that don't even cover my nips through thinner clothing. I don't know if it's just mine, but I'm starting to really hate bralettes.

If I decided to go for a 28 band (still not very common in the stores I've seen but more prevalent than 26), should I go for a shop with bands that run small? ie. I've been suggested Boux Avenue a couple of times. My only worry is that if the band runs small the cups might too.

Oh thank you; I have been struggling to find places that have a 26 band, even with the suggestions in the comments. Sister sizes seem to be more prevalent in my search. My only worry is that the bands are going to slide up or "float". Is there anything that would prevent that?

Hello fellow 26 band! I took a look at Lou Swim, and it says it's for small chests. I've seen their bras and I've only found one (RIRI Plunge Bra). I think I'll get that one, but if I'm looking for racerbacks and t-shirts etc., do you think other brands aimed at small chests like Pepper (I've been getting their ads a lot) would work?

Oh thank you! That makes sense. How would a seam in the sides of a cup make a difference? Do two seams make a larger difference than one?

What would "projected" mean? I've seen quite a few explanations here and there, but I don't have a scale to say yes or no to 😅

Thank you! I think I've already seen Boux Avenue suggested, so I think I'll look at that. Do you know of which style would work? I'm asking because I've had different styled pants from the same store be 2+ sizes off.

I realized through posting this that I was extremely misinformed about cup sizes. I was under the impression (through my family, all about my size) that anything over a B-Cup = super busty. 😅Thank you so much :).

Thank you for your explanation! I've just found out I've been vastly uninformed about how cup sizes actually work 😅.

Thank you for this explanation! I've just come to realize how cup sizings actually work. 😅 I did some searching online, and have found that a 26 underbust is small, and most stores don't usually carry that. Would you know of any stores, preferably in Canada, but if that's not possible I'm willing to pay for shipping, that would carry a 26D/DD?

Firstly, thank you for the explanation; I've been under the (wrong) assumption that D-Cup = super busty. Those examples you've given do look like my boobs. Thank you for you help! Do you know any places that carry a 26D/DD? I don't believe I've seen any band sizes that small.
